BMW 740iL 102,000 Miles Black of Course

Needless to say, this Bimmer needed wet sanding, compounding, polishing, Ultrafina SE....Da Works!

But, for the mileage...it came out super!

I splurged on a new Ridgid Porta Vac that is absolutely one of the nicest portable shop vac's around. Everything stores in the side lids, it's powerful as all get out, and is light weight. If you AG'ers are in the market for a shop vac, take a look at this one....I got mine at Home Depot for $99 and all the attachments are included.

I propped open a side lid to show the storage. In addition, it also has a blow port so you can reverse it to blow dry carpeting, etc.

Got a new shipment of Bimmers today: Black X3 (never did one of these...but Black is Black), a Black 325i and a Black 745Li.

See Ya's

The car is a 2000 model year. The 2000 and earlier models have a flat black lower rocker panel, and '01's and newer were the same finish as the body paint.

Thanks for the compliments folks! The dealer really helped me on this one. One of my personal problems is I'm a little light on wet sanding pressure. I'd rather be cautious than heavy handed .... cause there's no "undo" if you go too far. But I'm learning and watching what the finish appearance looks like when he does a section and copy that. I'm very comfortable with 3000 grit, but the caution is 2000 because of the cutting power.

See Ya
