850i BMW restored

This is a 1991 BMW 850i with the big v12 engine in it.

It was left at the shop for a long time. The owner of the shop now is the owner of it. It was repainted a few years back, with a clear coat added. Original was a single stage paint. And a not so great paint job at it too. I worked on the paint for 2 days and the third day the inside.
With other clients I had scheduled, and he needed it done. I spent about 3-4 hours per day on the outside.

The Gameplan
The paint was dull, and had some real bad water etching. So out came the DeWalt with wool and 3M extra cut and a little Optimum polish. The OP was to help with hazing. All the trim was taped off, before I began.
*About 20% etching still remains. I could not remove all of it without jeprodizing the CC.
Then DP Premium Surface Shield went on last.

The Interior
I had to remove the front seats, since it is a very tight area to clean. Between the seat and the console.
DP Interior Surface Protectant was used on the dash, console and door panels.
Carpets were a different store. With my Sanitaire and a new carpet solution from HD, I went to town.

Passenger Side

After

The seats were redyed

Great job!!!
8-series is clearly one of the best classics ever built! You are very lucky to work one one of them! Once again, very well done!

Great job Ed! I love the front on those old 850's. I would have really liked to see an engine detail on it.

Beautiful job on the Bimmer. There's a black 850 in KC that the owner keeps pretty nice...but not as nice as that one.

What you did on the interior was outstanding....you get the Detail Addict Gold Star for that one LOL
