New Vehicle Prep: 2007 Hyundai Elantra/ Sig. Series II

This car belongs to my sister, she bought it friday evening and I specifically told her not to let the dealership wash it and that I would detail it. She said that when she told them not to wash it, they looked her like she was crazy. I told her to tell them her bro was a professional and wouldn't screw up her car!! Anyway, this was fun to do for two reasons:
  1. Everyone always talked about wax making wetter, deeper shine; but was still a skeptic until that night and you will see a pic of the hood 3/4 waxed and buffed, and the top right not. 2 different shades of black!!
  2. On the dash board, when I applied RL interior dressing... night/day difference as well, I also did a 50/50 shot. It made me realize that even though the car is brand new, the interior needed added protection as well.
Ok well onto the detail, not alot of pics being that it's new. Also I started about 6:30 and didn't wrap up till about 9. When I called her and told her it was ready, she was talking about all this driving she was going to do at night! I yelled at her in a loving manner and told her if the car was dirty at church the next morning I was going to kill her. I didn't get to take my after pics till this morning. This car has major flakage, didn't like it at first... but it grew on me. We went and picked out some Enkei 17's with Kumho low pro's, will post updated pics once put on.

Exterior:
I made a special mixture of RL shampoo, PB SS&S, SS&W, and some new AA Soap with Carnabua soap. No excat measurements. Via foam gun
LC Schmitt (10x better than Edge schmitt) grit guard bucket
Stoners tarminator front end and mirrow
Dry Cobra Guzzler (kick butt)

Sig. Series II via UDM black LC pad. Speed 2
buff off mf
PB Spray and Gloss via mf
Wheel wells AA Detailers Advantage Foam
Tires RL exterior tire and trim, also dressed the black metal rims
(what was showing)
Windows SIG via WW

Interior:
Basic wipe down RL APC
Dash dressed RL interior dressing

Hood shot, can you see where wax wasn't applied??

Interior 50/50, dressing was applied then buffed:

Great work bro! You know if the general public knew how great their NEW car COULD look they would never let a dealership touch it and would negotiate having a good detailer do it for them. The thing I like to tell people when they drop their car off with me is "It'll look better than the day you bought it." And you know I have yet to be told that it wasn't.

Great job! I don't see that many Hyundais being detailed, and this one looks very nice! Thanks for sample of RL tire dressing, I tried it recently. I like a little more gloss on tires, so I'll stick with my favorite - DP tire gloss gel. How do you like that LC Ulti Mitt? Its french fries shape really scares me, afraid of dirt/grit catching up in between and possibly scratching the finish...

That is some sweet work. Really like that tire dressing, not too glossy, but it does stand out!

compared to the schmitt, absolutely love it!!! the french fries are like pores, for one they make the soap more lathery (if that's a word), and it doesn't snag as easy as the schmitt. it does help to trap dirt, but once you open the "pores" inside a bucket it releases the dirt!! way better design that the schmitt and better constructed. I bought 2 schmitts about 2 months ago and they look like crap... im gonna do a comparison to see which is really better. being that i detail almost everyday of the week I can really put them through the ringer
