Projects for the week...

Ok here is the story, I got a family members car that needs to be detailed very bad. Hood is oxidizing and its only an 2002. It is in rough shape, already spent three hours on the inside last week. Going to do the exterior this week.
Here are the before...

As you can see its dirty and the wheels havent been cleaned since 2002.

You can see the oxidation here...

And its one bath I think it ever got must have been with a brillo pad!

So my plan of attack I think is XMT, and a lot of it. Then since she has been neglected so long, a coat of Souveran on top. What do you think?

Next project got dropped off last night in my driveway. Its an 2007 Regal, I think its 22 feet. I haven't done a boat in over a year so all help is welcome and encouraged!!!!

Boat is not real bad, they have a lift so its not always in the water. It came out for a scheduled service and they did not like the water lines so it came to my house! I will take all advice on this one....

Thanks!

Looks like a metallic green Isuzu Amigo --- XMT and SSII please !

As for the boat, this would be interesting to see what Amazing Roll-Off will do to those water marks.

It is metallic green Rodeo Sport you were close! And I have the Roll Off ready, I love that stuff. They want some wax on the boat, thinking either Collinite or maybe Liquid Glass Nautical... not really sure with this salty water if it will matter! I like the thought of Klasse but I hate applying and removing Klasse, or I should say my shoulder hates Klasse.

Meghan, on the rodeo. Try Menzerna SIP/OP on same pad. Try a LC CCS org pad and see how that does. And like Killr said sig series II
Haven't done a boat yet, so no help on that. Ask Justin he does alot more boats.

Meghan, last week I did an oxidized Explorer. It was so bad that I used a chemical cleaner (by hand) first. It took about 30 minutes to do that. Don't know if it saved any overall time but it sure saved the frustration of fighting dirty gummed up pads for half a day. It then got XMT 360.

On the Isuzu, use XMT 360 and a cutting pad with your PC on setting 5-6. That should take care of it and top with any wax you want......

Good luck on that Rodeo.......XMT4 I bet!!! The wheels.......uh........Meg's Wheel Brightener at a 4:1 ratio. Probably twice.

The boat will be fun. Just lots of surface area and an awkward upside down angle for buffing.

Fly me down and we will..............detail those rides!

I would def. put down a decent sealant under whatever wax you use on the Isuzu. Since it hasn't been taken care of very well, I would venture to guess, that the wax won't be taken care of either. Leave some protection on that car.

Some 6" Edge2K wool pads would fit right in working with the boat together with Menzerna. Please be a little careful working and let the machine do the work for you.

Let us know the process, please?

Daniel
