Amateurs need not apply. (6 hr. interior)

Wow........
This was a referral job. One of my regulars talked about how good I was and told a few people, whom called me. I booked an interior, Ford Excursion.

I figured a business owner, the interior wouldn't be too bad. It was about 40 minutes away, a little out of my normal coverage area, so I did not go see it first. Oooooops.

I quoted a rough estimate of $100.....
( forgot my camera, so all pics were taken from my phone...dang it... Doesn't show up really good)
So I pull up and see a Green Excursion, Dirtier than all get out. I was hoping it wasn't the one.....it was
here is what I pulled up to.....

After de-trashing, I walked back in the office and told her there was no way I could detail the interior for anything close to $100. We agreed on $250 and I went from there.

Light tan interior, very poor condition. Not one piece of interior was clean. SERIOUSLY. The leather was HORRIBLE. The Carpet was full of sand., TRASH everywhere!!!! It took me an hour just to remove the garbage. Over an hour to scrub things down, not including the seat. Seats took about 2 hours. Vac took about an hour and shampooing took about an hour.

Man, I was not expecting this. I even called Dust 2 Glory to come help, but it was too far for him

Pics...............

Water after 1st extraction

After 2nd

Leather soaking

Leather after scrubbed

Leather done. (Just middle portion)

Afters.....

She said the Excursion was detailed 2 months ago and they did a crappy job..
talk about a day....
She liked it, that's all that matters!

Did the other ones that detailed her car have a party in there? cant understand that people throw food etc on the floor in the car. That car was just discusting.....

You did a great job, and 100 bucks was a bargin for her imo, hope you got a tip..

Loved the seat pics too

She said the "other detailers" left out a lot of things. And that $100 was my rough estimate. We finally settled on $250 for the interior

Seats didn't come out the best, but anything is better than before

I can't even begin to image how bad it looked in person! I applaud you for the turn-around. I think I may have seen it and passed out (along with passed on the job).

Out of curiosity, do you normally request people remove all trash and personal items prior to you doing any work? Personally, I feel like there comes a point where you have to explain to people that you're not a trash service. That's just me though. Regardless, you did a hell of a job!

I think you need to start quoting HIGHER or give a range from cleanish to dirty and then finalise the quote when you get there. That to me is something I would walk away from, that is disgusting.

What extractor are you using as it appears to be worth its weight in gold at the moment????

Awesome job on that interior!
What are people thinking when they do that to their cars. Makes me wonder what their house looks like.
