My good friend's father lives in NM but all his family still lives here in NC. He just recently bought a new Nissan 350Z and brought the 300Z to NC to leave so when he comes for visits he has something to drive. When he visits he stays for weeks so better than renting a car. While it is here it really doesn't get the TLC it deserves (he is the only owner of the car) so he asked me if I would detail it for him. I told him no problem and he wanted to put the DP Surface Shield on it. He had come over while I was detailing another vehicle that got the DP and he loved it.
When he brought it to me it had a lot of swirls and water spots and the leather seats were as hard as bricks. He was going to the beach for a few days so I told him when he got back it would look better than the day he bought it. I love driving this car. You don't see many around and the ones I do don't look near this good. Well here's what I did:
Tires: Cleaned tires and wheels with DP Gel Wheel cleaner. Man I thought Dodges were bad for brake dust, but they are nothing compared to this Nissan. Are all Nissans this bad, just older ones, or just 300's? Cleaned the wheel wells with Megs APC. Dressed tires with DP Tire gloss gel. Dressed the wheel wells with Stoners More Shine. Glazed the wheels with DP Wheel Glaze and TRIED to removed with Mother's Mini Powerball. The Powerball/DP Glaze combo has worked flawlessly for me in the past but this time not a single bit of DP Wheel glaze came off, I mean absolutely NONE! I thought maybe the mini powerball had bit the dust so I got my new regular size powerball out and had the same results. I was confused and frustrated so I got a MF out and did it the old fashioned way. Man what a workout! I don't know why these stock wheels were so hard to get the wheel glaze off but they were, my arms felt like noodles when I got done! Of all the cars I have used DP wheel glaze on this was the first that gave me problems ~ hopefully just an aberation.
Wash: Cleaned off bugs with Poorboy's Bug Squash. Washed with DP Xtreme Foam auto shampoo and foam gun and white/yellow schmitt. Dried with Cobra guzzler and leaf blower.
Interior: Cleaned with DP Total Interior Cleaner and protected with DP Interior Surface Protectant. Cleaned all door jambs with DP Waterless Car Wash. Cleaned the leather seats with DP Total Interior Cleaner and conditioned with Wolfgangs Leather Conditioner. After applying the Wolfgangs I shut it up and left it in the NC sun for a few hours and the seats softened up considerably. Not soft like newer leather but a marked improvement. In fact his son said that is the best these seats have felt in years.
Engine: Sprayed with Megs APC undiluted, worked in with a soft brush, hosed off and after it dried I sprayed with Stoners More Shine.
Headlights/Taillights: Cleaned and polished with Plexus and WW MF.
Glass: Cleaned with Stoners Invisible Glass and WW MF.
Paint: I started with XMT 3, my PC, and an orange LC pad on the hood because it was in the worst shape with swirls, water spots, and minor marring. Roof probably would have been bad but it is 90% glass so no problems there. Next I used XMT 360 (as people know that read my posts one of my favorite products) and a white LC pad. After that the car looked great so next was to apply the DP Surface Shield. Man I do love the way the car looks when you wipe this stuff off! I like it so much, that sometimes it is hard for me to wait at least 45 mins before I wipe it off.
I hope my posts aren't getting boring because I am a creature of habit. When I get products I like I stay loyal to them. But thanks to this forum I am starting to try other products. Thanks to Sparkie I am starting to venture into the DG line and from all the hoopla on here I am itching to try the Menzerna line. I just saw where Killr has started another sample exchange thread so I guess it's time for me to start sharing and venturing out into other product lines. Well here are the pics, and sorry there are no before interior pics but I did two vehicles that day and forgot to take before interior pics of this one and completely forgot afters of the other.

And yes I have been trying to get him to take that rusty plate holder off the front of this great car for some time now. He must have some personal attachment to it or something.
