05 STi, Finally tackled my water spots.

Well, I finally got around to doing a full exterior detail on my car. I have been compaining for months about the water spots on my paint, and i finally got the chance to have my way with them haha. I should have more pictures this afternoon but I couldn't wait to share these.
The Process:
- prewash with power washer w/ 45 degree nozzle
- wash with turlewax ice soap and low pressure nozzle on PW
- rinse with PW 45 degree nozzle
- clay with meguiars for the rear 3/4 of the car and mothers for the front 1/4 (i destroyed the meguiars because my car had so much crap in the paint)
- 3m Fine Cut Rubbing Compound - porter cable 7424, orange LC CCS pad, 5.5 speed, and some spots done by hand with as many coats as needed to get the spots
- Mothers Paste Carnuba wax - porter cable 7424/hand, speed 3.5
- Stoners Invisible Glass on the windows and mirrors
- TurtleWax f21 foaming tire shine
- water and rag on the wheels by hand (because NOTHING else does a better job)
Payment: a beer and some much needed experience for myself.
Time: i didnt really keep track closely but between friday and saturday probably about 6-8 hours total (im a slow worker)
onto the pix!

some of my arsenal haha (bunch-o-**** on the workbench)

polished up the Genome

shiney even with the lights in my face

quick one of the interior
and my new favorite picture of the car.

i dont have any before shots because the camera wouldnt pick up anything worthy of showing. like i said i should have more pictures today/this afternoon if it doesnt rain.

Looks Good !!!!!!!!!!
My son has a 2003 WRX, he got it just before they came out with the STI
His is WR Blue
I found the paint to be a little on the soft side but it GLOWED when done.

So are the STI's still the fastest produuction car in the USA ????????

not by any means really... to my recollection, it never has been haha... there are cars out there like the z06 corvette that just destroy the sti's power... my car is pretty beefy for the little amount of mods ive done to it... and i was really weary of the paint becuase its known that subarus have thin paint... it turned out really nice.. i cant wait to get some pix today...

I think in 04 when they came out 24 hours after the EVO 8, still a very fast car.

One of the guys my son worked with got a 04 STI he chipped it and replaced the complete exhaust system, very fast after that.
That's in Indy and they have a bunch of shops that sell/install
