2013 300 SRT8: A Charity Detail

I was approached by an old and dear friend who I have known for about 25 or more years about doing a car for a car show that he was going to be hosting. The car show was for Mopar Muscle. He is a salesman at a Chrysler dealership and had ordered in this vehicle specially for this show. It was a white Chrysler 300 SRT8. The amazing thing about it was the black chrome package. In exchange for a booth at the show, my company logo on the tickets and my company logo on the poster, I donated my time and a bottle of CQuartz Finest to present this car. I also had a banner made up that will be on the car whenever it is on display at different car shows prior to this show in August. I booked the day off work yesterday to get it done. Here it is as it arrived, 2 days old just landed at the dealership:

CQF Preparation:

I basically did this up like the CQF package on my website for a new car delivery which includes:
Wash
Decontamination
One step polish
CQF

I first washed the car with a strong mix of DG 901. Oddly enough, there was quite a bit of beading going on even after this step, so that was followed by a decontamination stage using Wolf's Decon gel and a grout sponge. There was no interaction whatsoever on the paint. I thought there might only be a small chance of it since this car is only built 3 hours away from me and was not long in transit at all. However, the Wolf's did kill the beading entirely.

Next it was brought inside and a quick clay was done with the CarPro clay foam block.

Now, the paint was smooth and decontaminated. It looked good. Why shouldn't it, it was brand new? However, I thought I would try a paint cleaning stage with DG Squeaky Clean using a white B/S pad with my Rupes at speed 4. Even with it not being worked in nearly as much as you would a polish, the SC still perfected the paint. It made it glow. White should glow and now it did. I did a separate wipe down to ensure any residue from SC was off the surface. sc was also used on the wheels prior to coating.

Next up was 2 coats of CQF. I did the paint, and the gorgeous wheels and the grille. By the time I did all that it was time to remove and then start again. I think total time on this car was slightly over 5 hours. Pretty fast I thought.

So, the million dollar question: Did the combo of SC and CQF improve this brand new finish??? You're damned right it did! Check out the pics and see for yourself. And, BTW, the rear trim was done in DLux as well.

Now as far as the Squeaky Clean goes, I spoke with Bill today and am going to chat with Jerry tomorrow. The product has a green light for production and is in the final stages of labeling wording, artwork, etc. Once finished, it's only about a month to hit the shelves. I'm hoping for mid summer at the latest. I continue to be blown away by this product and what it can do for paint, especially prior to coating. When I know more definitive dates, I will announce it here.

Thanks guys. Been real busy, but no complaints. Everyone's good and just enjoying the season.
The cool thing is this car is getting so much exposure, that I've had 2 referrals from it already.

Man the white with black chrome are sooo hot. I have a black SRT without the black chrome option and wish I had it.
