Detailed Black Monte Carlo SS

Detailed a Black Monte Carlo SS today. The car had a lot of water spots (horrible huge ones on the spoiler) and a bad scratch on the front fender well that his mother in law had put on it. He wanted me to detail it and said he hoped I could get the scratch out. This was going to be the first black car I had put Sauveran on so I was a little amped. I am very new to doing this for pay. It had always been a hobby of mine so I just started doing some on the side for a little cash. I have learned so much from you guys and it shows in the way the cars I have done have turned out. Well here is what the detail consisted of:

Tires: DP Wheel Gel Cleaner, DP Wheel Glaze, and DP Tire Gel. As you will see from the pics the wheels had some pretty bad brake dust stains that he had not been able to get off, but hey I did, woo hoo! Tires cleaned with Tire Shmitt and wheel wells degreased and sprayed with Stoner's Trim Shine.

Wash: DP Auto Bath Shampoo, Poor Boy's Bug Squash for tough areas, washed with Shmitt.

Interior: DP Interior Cleaner, DP Interior Protectant, Wolfgang Leather Conditioner, and vacuum. Interior turned out really well and I have fallen in love with the DP combo. Also cleaned all door jambs with DP Waterless Auto Wash, my pet peeve is to see a beautifully detailed car and when the door is opened it looks as bad as the car did originally.

Glass: Wow this was a job. The inside glass was done with Stoner's Invisible Glass. The out side was done with the Diamondite Glass Restorer kit. Started out claying, then buffed on the restorer, and finished up with the Glasswork shield. I didn't get rid of all the water spots but probably 85% of them and if I had more time probably could have gotten rid of all. Treated the headlights and taillights with Plexus.

Paint Prep: Worked on the really bad waterspots, swirls and the scratch with XMT #3 with Porter Cable and Orange Lake Country Pad, then did the entire car with Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion with Gray Lake Country Pad.

Wax: The pinnacle (no pun intended) of the detail. Sauveran wax with Gray Lake Country Pad.

He was ecstatic with the results. Well here are some before and after pics.

Dust you got in before I could get them posted. I'm new to using photobucket as well. Hopefully my detailing skills are better than my posting ones.

good looking black car

Man that looks great, i have a black lincloin this weekend to do, going to use the PO 106 nano on it, waiting for it to come in, I will probably use white pad first and see what results I get, and take it from there.
