I just got a Brinkmann Dual Xenon light and I wanted to get pictures of my paint polishing... so here it is for all of you to enjoy

The paint is on a 1998 Jeep Wrangler, and all work was done via PC and LC 7.5" polishing pads on speed 6. I'll cut to the chase and post the pictures....

First up is the top of the door-

Next up was the bottom of the door which recieves a lot of abuse from shoes and other junk. It is very beat up and this doesn't represent a perfect finish, but I thought it'd only be fair to post it

So what do you guys think? Not too bad, all was done within an hour, thats with not only polishing and sealing, but pictures and the trim as well (see trim restorer thread). Thanks, and hopefully you enjoy the pictures

I forgot to add one more picture, I really like this flashlight. It makes it so easy to show the defects anywhere on a car. Now I just need a tripod to keep the camera steady...

BTW: where did you get the Brinkmann?

I got it at Pep Boys for 29.99. Wal-Mart has one but it is 1 Xenon and 1 LED, I think the Dual Xenon is the best bet. Thanks for the reply, I'm happy with the results.

So lake country pads..which ones? And speed 6 through the whole process? Sorry if they're beginner questions, i'm still learning the PC

Had some trouble with XMT. I think i'm gonna have to try that PB polish.

I use the 7.5" Variable Contour pads made by Lake Country, not the CCS pads though. I mainly use polishing pads which are nice to use because you don't get any micromarring from the pads.

I spread the product on speed 4, took the picture (product just applied, not broken down yet), then cranked the power up to 6. I moved the PC very slowly over the area, back and forth, side to side, corner to corner, until the polish was fairly clear.

I hand wash them with dawn and a little oxy clean actually. If you use oxyy clean make sure you rinse thouroughly to make sure all of the grains are removed. Others use a pad specific product and throw them in the washing machine, but I like doing it by hand. Now you have to dry the pads. Ring out as much water as you can. You could take some towels and squish the pad between it, or turn the machine on 3 or 4 and let the water fly off. Whichever way you do it, make sure it is dry before storage- if left wet, they may mold...
