No BMW So I did a Black Land Cruiser XMT 360

Wonder-of-Wonder's: I'm outta BMW's until the end of May! So, I did a BMW customer's Black Land Cruiser. To say he was pleased is an understatement!

Started at 6:00 am with a wash and inspection.

Process was Meguiar's #83 on their 8006 pad for swirl and scratch removal (there was tons of swirls on this beast). Then, followed with XMT 360 on a finish pad. You just can't get a better combo for driveway detailing.

The interior was awful! He has 3 boys that use the Land Cruiser for formal dining! Stains, fries, coke spill....u-name-it. I used diluted apc + Folex on the tough stains and shop vac'd it out of there. The leather was scrubbed with a Boar's hair brush and dishwashing liquid diluted in warm water.

The doggone interior took as much time as the exterior! But, he could not believe how nice it looks.

Here's some before swirls

After 83 on the fender (used the Metabo)

Some XMT 360 shots...man, that stuff is grand! (I ordered 2 more bottles)

Last Overall shot...

If you on-site folks haven't tried XMT 360, you're missing a great product!

Toto

Just beautiful!! Great turnaround from those nasty swirls. I'm guessing XMT360 was your LSP? Very nice reflections!!

alban61: yep...360 was the final product. Worked it until the haze was completely gone and that was it. Oh, I did go over the car with an mf and some quick detailer just to see if there were any swirls I missed.

Well done Toto that Landcruiser looks good, black is such a gorgeous color when it's cleaned. Sounds like the owners kids don't appretiate such a beautifull vehicle, I love the Landcruisers build like a tank but has wicked curves.

Any pictures of the interior Toto? Just wondering.

Thanks for sharing.

Toto you always have amazing results with the 3M products and MEGS, but it's nice to see you push 360 and quote "driveway detail."

You made the landcruiser look like a million bucks in the pics. Nice reflections and superior gloss.

Nice Job !!! My Favorite Shot below..

Great detail right there! That thing looked like Swirlzilla. I could see your reflection on the chrome part of the grill in the hood shot

Thanks for the compliments folks!

Doing the driveway or on-site detailing gave me a renewed appreciation for people like Justin and tons of others that make a business out of on-site detailing.

The shop experience actually helped me do this Land Cruiser a lot quicker.

For all: yes, I used the Metabo Rotary for the #83 and the 360. Didnt' even change the speed setting...1,500.

Interior: Mea Culpa on me! I got a total of one (1) shot of a stain on the carpeting.

And, I used Folex to remove it (I didn't even have the good sense to take after pics). The interior is tan leather and I scrubbed it with a mixture of liquid soap and purple power apc diluted 10:1. I had one stubborn stain that wouldn't come out just behind the driver's seat on the carpeting...tried everything to get it out and it wouldn't. After the owner came to get the Cruiser, I asked him and he thinks it's an old coffee stain.

Looks great Toto! It seems like to do a lot of black cars. Working outside and not doing a bimmer is definitely a change for you.
