| 2010 XC 90 with OG What an awesome, welcomed change from the big Roush job last week. This pearl white XC90 was getting a one step and OG treatment on the paint, wheel faces and the glass.
Here is the vehicle as it arrived:
First up was the wheels. The barrels and faces got shot with IronX and/or Wolf's and were agitated and then power washed off. That was followed by Tarminator which was also agitated and then power washed off. The final step was ZC on the faces and barrels and again rinsed off very well. The wells got ZC and the tires got cleaned with Zep 505 neat.
Here is IX/Wolf's doing their thing:
The vehicle was then foamed with a strong mix of DG 901 and Dawn, followed by a wash with the same mix. That was rinsed off and then one last step of IX gel was done to the paint.
The vehicle was then blown off with the Master Blaster and then was clayed using the Carpro foam block and ONR as lube. Even after all the preceding steps, I was still finding little brown dots hiding in some spots!
The paint on this vehicle seemed hard. It was actually in remarkable shape considering the year. Only the hood needed a bit of buffing. I used a yellow B/S and D300 on it. That was followed by another yellow B/S and an experimental chemical cleaner on the Flex at 5. The paint was unbelievably smooth after this step. It's like Squeaky Clean on steroids! The whole vehicle got the one step of the strong chemical cleaner followed by an ONR wipedown and ERASER. The headlights and taillights were compounded via rotary, wool+PG, followed by Rotary yellow B/S + M105 followed by DA and white B/S and chem cleaner.
The grille was polished by hand with the chem cleaner. The silver scuff plates front and rear were polished via DA with yellow B/S and D300. The side black glass plates got treated to M105 and 205.
The wheels were hand polished with the chem cleaner via mf.
The glass was treated to Opt Glass Coating while the rest of the vehicle was coated with OG, including the grille and the wheels and the scuff plates.
The tires were sprayed via air gun with DP gel.
The trim was done with CQ Dlux.
Just over 13 hours work on this one.
AFTER SHOTS:
(here's 2 inside for a certain skeptic)
I still wouldn't trust those, LOL.
Thanks for looking. Comments appreciated. |

Very nice, as always!
Those wheels: Holy crapola!
Do you know when Optimum is going to release the glass coating?

Unfortunately, it's not something commercially available. However, DG is beta testing a product called Squeaky Clean which is a paint cleaner that has absolutely no sealant in it (think 501 without sealant). We have been beta testing it at L2D. I have set up the trials for the folks over there. I'm hoping it comes to market next year, although if it does, it will be marketed very differently than their regular products. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful for your white SUV. |

| Re: 2010 XC 90 with OG Really good job. Do you think using iron x or wolfs on wheels is worth it even though its expensive? Also in one photo you can see the clients license plate just fyi |
