My detail day! First time machine polishing ever :)

Hey guys, for those of you who haven't read my introduction I posted a while ago, I'm a 20 year old college student at the University of Florida. I'm aiming to be a dentist.

In between school, studying, clinical research, and actually modding my car, I have found time to discover this website and become really interested in machine polishing my paint and getting rid of all those swirls!

Before I get to the pictures, I would like to thank the forum members for all their help, especially Mike and Bucksincolt.

Sorry no before pictures because I was crunched on time.

I used a PC7424XP and Optimum Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish, followed by Opticoat 2.0. Pads used were Yellow and Orange.

My unboxing:

Starting off, wash with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash N' Gloss at a dilution to remove all previous wax.

Clayed using Speedy Prep Towel with UWW+ as lube.

Some shots after compounding and polishing:

Next, applied the Opticoat 2.0 and bam! What a nice gloss:

I think it turned out really well! Let me know what you guys think

Detailing is not unlike most things we attempt in life. Everyone starts off as a beginner then with some time, tools, patience, and practice, things really start moving along.

Your Camaro is a great color and polishing it makes it glow. Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 is just the product to enhance and protect all that hard work and glossy it is!!

Awesome work!!

Thanks, was a lot of work but looks great now Yeah I have noticed my car seems to polarize people. Some hate it some love it. All that matters though is that I love it

Car looks awesome! That's a lot of work and from the pics, it paid off. Colors are sporty and classic. The hood vents were the coolest part to me.
Keep up the good work! Like Bobby said, you'll get better as you go along and you'll find it becomes rather addictive

Nice job and a beautiful car. With those hands you will make a fine dentist or at least a tooth detailer. My son and daughter in law are both dentists. Good Luck.

Sweet lookin Camaro. Now it's protected with Opticoat 2.0, way to go!

Hey maybe you'll be the one who invents Opticoat for people's teeth! Just put this stuff on and no more cavities! lol

Actually there already is a sealant for teeth. I know because my dentist applied it on my molars years ago.

Guess how many cavities I've had? 0 in 40 years.
