Detailed:VWRabbit

Only 6 months old but good old California sun had already started baking stuff onto the car and fading the black plastic panels on this car...the paint was in great shape visually...no swirls and a very healthy clear coat...but claying the car as always revealed a different story..the paint was already a little gritty and didn't pass the plastic baggy test.

The car just needed the love of an Autogeeker and it came out great...

Process:

Wash:

Citrus wash n'gloss was used...mixed 1oz with 1oz of optimum no rinse (to help soften the water) and into the foam gun it went...not a water spot left on the car and left the car slick and ready for claying...used my trusty microchenille mitt...i noticed that the addition of the onr really help the soap "sudz" up and made the car shampoo much slicker...

Clay:

Megs smooth surface clay kit...very mild clay but this cars contamination wasn't horibble, the one thing I like about this stuff is it doesn't leave any marring...most of todays clays...even the less agressive ones still tend to leave a little of marring...not a big deal if you are going to polish anyway..but definitely a great "everyday" clay (boy do i miss my old yellow clay now that stuff was the king of clays)

Polish:

The paint had no swirls worth mentioning but it did have a rougher feel to it and a couple scuffs from who knows what...polished the whole car down with my rotary and an edge green pad with pro-polish just to clean up the paint rather than correct it...

Wheels/Tires

Eww...caked on brake dust...pb wheel cleaner came through like a champ as it always does...i did have to break out a spoke brush for this one...but no hard scubbing was necessary...it was more just light rubbing...i could have used my fingers if i wanted to..this is definitely great stuff...just the pressue of the water out of my foam gun kicked off any last residue..tires got VRP and the wells got a spray of silk shine

Glass:

Sprayway...nuff said

Interior:

Just used some deodorizer for the carpets and gave them a good vaccuuming...anything plastic, rubber or vinyl got silk shine

Exterior Plastic:

...I normally use 303 but being a thin liquid as we know doesnt really soak into the plastic..more of just a nice top coat...I've been fuddling around with my new plastic extreme gel..the pics speak for themselves...

LSP:

Since I am trying to consolidate my detailing shelf I did a first coat of Zaino Z-2 with ZFX additive to try and use up this stuff...next got a top coat of natty blue cuz I love this stuff..

THE PICS:

Before:

The Hood...bird bombs galore and me hoping they haven't been on long enough to begin etching into the new paint...

The bumper..make note of the faded black plastic bottom portion...

The mirror...note the black faded plastic....

The wheels...yuck

Afters:

The hood..natty blue is just awesome...thankfully the bird bombs left no etching

The bumper plastic restored...shiny shiny and its not something that is going to wipe off

The mirror...this gel is amazing

The wheels...PB wheel cleaner rox

The infamous door pillar that is usually an eye sore..this is a 50/50 shot to show how great the extreme gel works..

Definitely happy how the car turned out....

Very nice buddy, really like your write ups. Very informative and I agree the 50/50 shots are wicked, really show the power of the product you are using. I'll have to make a note of that, I'll probably needing it shortly.

thats the beauty of the pb wheel cleaner...normally i always used some sort of full strength degreaser but still had to bust my knuckles scrubbing...the pb wheel cleaner does a great job even without scrubbing..at a little rubbing and the wheels look brand new...even deep inside the well of the wheel gets clean...
