Detailed: 2003 HD Soft Tail

This one is owned by my close friend's in-laws. I actually have two more vehicles to post from them. This bikes was dirty. She was embarrassed to even let me see it. It's been sitting in her garage for over 2 years now with no attention. I sat back, got my game plan together and went to work.

Wash Cycle:
(Pinnacle's Bodywork Shampoo and EDGE Wash ShMitt)
Boy did the ShMitt save my hands here! After pressure washing the bike down, I started washing. THe ShMitt allowed me to get into places that would have normally cut my hands up. RIP poor ShMitt!
This shampoo also did a great job at cleaning up the leather and chrome.

Metal Polishing:
(Mother's Power Metal Polish with MF covered applicator)
This product really surprised me. It removed tarnish and rust spots from the chrome parts very easily. The applicator I used was a pocketed blue one from Wa-Mart. Very good quality. Stayed right on my hands too.
Here's a before and after of the polishing....

Guess which side is polished?

Paint Correction and Protection:
(XMT#4 and Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax)
Yep. XMT#4. Why so harsh? The paint on the tank was tough as nails and since I was doing it by hand, why not? I used a Wolfgang foam finger pad. This took out a lot of the scratches and finished off well. No marring at all. The tank, fenders, and chrome were treated to two coats of Souveran Paste. It was simply a pleasure to use.

Leather Cleaning and Protection:
(Pinnacle's Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner)
Even though I cleaned the leather well while cleaning the bike, I wanted to make sure it was really clean. I sprayed the cleaner onto a MF towel and worked it into the leather. I then allowed it to dry. I then used the conditioner lotion with another pocketed applicator. I applied 3 layers....it soaked up too like crazy. The bags and seats were left soft and supple.

The windshield is to be replaced and did not receive any polishing.

Befores.......

Looks good Justin. Why did the bike sit for so long? It looked awful but not anymore.

JUstin, what an amazing job! What was all over the leather before? Is that just dirt? That is a lot of leather!

Thanks guys.......I mean it. Means a lot to hear it.

That was mold on the leather. It was awful. That's why I pressure washed it. I didn't want to touch it!
