Chevy HHR..detailed...

I must say...I'm kinda partial to the color on this one...I have no idea why...

The priority on this one was the interior....the car doesn't even have the plates yet and the paint was in good condition...

The Process....

WASH

Foam gun filled with citrus wash n' gloss...micro chenille mit...huge mf to dry using qd as a luricant...

CLAY

Only the hood/roof and other horizontal panels got clayed...the rest of the paint was in great condition....megs smooth surface clay was used...

POLISH

Pro-polish was used just to clean up the paint an get rid of minor scuffs and very light swirls...its a lot like xmt/ssr 1 with a little more bite...almost as much as xmt2 but finishes the paint crystal clear with a rotary....

LSP

Since I had a big platform to work on I decided to use various waxes on different panels...liquid souveran...paste souveran...pete's wax...megs nxt...pb natty blue...and even zaino Z-2...this car belongs to a work associate so I can check on the long term durability and shine comparison on all of the panels...

INTERIOR

303 protectant on some of the more abused spots...silk shine everywhere else...

GLASS

Sprayway glass cleaner...economical and works just as well as all the other non-surfactant class cleaners

TIRES

VRP and silk shine in the wells

WHEELS

Cleaned with pb spray and rinse wheel cleaner...great stuff...closest product to a true spray and rinse...even on really rough caked on spots just rubbing the area with my finger was enough agitation with the wheel cleaner to get the stuff off....

CARPETS and SEATS

This was where I played crazy chemist trying to use different spot removers on the interior, Folex removed most of the stains...some needed degreasers...others needed shout...I even tried oxyclean on a couple spots...interior carpet and seat were a big turn around but not 100 percent perfect...but the pics will show you what I started with ...final spray down with odor eliminator..left a nice citrus smell that even killed the smell of all the cleaners I used...

Now on to the before and after pics

BEFORE:

Not bad...it is a fairly new car after all...doesn't even have plates...how bad could it be?

Umm.... was all I could say...that would be a melted popsicle on the seat...

The front...definitely needed some attention

The Wheels...not bad...

The hood...also not bad...but definitely not up to an Autogeeker's standard...

AFTER:

The hood came out great.....nice reflections on an overcast day....

The interior...what popsicle?

The front...much better

The wheels...yes I know I missed a spot....

I was looking at that color and thinking how nice it is, must look allot better after you danced on it.

Was the car a loner ??????????
Looks like you had a workout on the interior, but it looks very nice now

My client told me that his mom runs a child day care...I'm assuming the car has been used for those purposes every now and again....I kinda surprised myself when I took a step back and looked at the interior...definitely one of the tougher ones I've dealt with...

BOMB @ss job! Wow. That hood is outstanding, as I am sure you know.
The back seat looks like a dog or a kid peed in it. I can't believe it looks so much better. You guys got skills. I have a LONG way to go.
Nice writeup as well!
YOU ROCK!
Lauren :-)

Very nice, the interior looks like new. Maybe even better then new and the write up very nice very detailed. I like it, gives good pointers and try some new stuff hehehehe.

I can see why you like the color on that vehicle, you sure made it look good. You got it nice and wet...very nice.

Thanks for sharing
