Re: Don't you hate

Only a woman would drive through something like that

Get an otc tar remover, a cotton rag, and mop it onto the surface. Keep repeating this untill its gone, then apply protectant

estimated time: 30-45 minutes (minus fenderwells)

Re: Don't you hate

The Yaris arrived at 10:30 this morning looking like...

That was what both sides looked like, however, the drivers side was worse.

As we worked:

Front fender cleaned

Rear tires removed so that the mud flaps could be removed

Almost finished

All finished and put back together

Re: Don't you hate

Now, we couldn't find any of the products listed in previous posts, my buddy had picked up some Turtle Wax bug and tar remover and I had some Wizards stuff and a bottle of Goo Gone gel spray.

We went to work, the above products worked ok, but honestly, what actually dissolved the tar the quickest and made removal a piece of cake, good ole WD-40, yup, that's right. We used WD-40 on the entire car to remove the car.

I can not believe how well it worked, sprayed it on and within 30 seconds the tar was melting.

We ended up washing the car like 3 times at the end of the day, but hey, whatever!

Good work!

WD40 works on tree sap too, at least it did on some pine sap on the neighbor's car.
