I'm watching M5board , there were two cars on there and one of them I had checked out awhile ago and dude never mentioned it needed some work, had a pretty bad carbon buildup issue, common problem in the cars that are driven like grannies, friggen get on it once in awhile lol.

Believe it or not, I actually thought the CTS-V drove slightly better, had a tad sharper handling and slight edge in acceleration, but the big factor is the plethora of mods you can do, M5 mods are $$$ and don't show much gains in comparison. But I still want one, two friends have them, I've always loved that Lemans Blue with the combo black sport interior and blue inserts. I'll pry only have it for a year or so to hold me over untill some some new cars come out that I'm interested in which is why I'm leaning towards the V which I can find on lease easily.

e39 M5 is a sweet car. Mods are pretty expensive though, and the gains aren't very good. Does the CTS-V has the ls2 in it?

Starting in 06' it did, 04/05 had the LS6 that I like, more of a raw feel to the engine, LS2 is almost to smooth. And they (M5 and V) have one main issue that's common, weak rear ends. Other than that they are both very solid, M5 has issues with carbon buildup but if drive at least a little agressive or get on it once in awhile it's fine, the guys that drove like grannies are mainly having the issue. I use Sea Foam in all our vehicles though so I wouldn't be worried.

Truthfully, I find the S4 to be borring and feels like a pig driving for such a small car, I hate awd. RS4 was "ok" but not for the price. I was raised around racing my whole life from auto to boats my family was involved in, so its in my blood, I love cars that have a raw edge to them, the CTS-V has that raw edge, M5 is more refined. Other goal is to pick up a Viper as well, we had a 96' we sold before we moved a few years ago. But a friend and I still track his 01' ACR, the car is just the definiton of a raw street car, pure drivers car, handles incredibly on track. Driven the C6Z quite a few times now on track and I'd still take a Gen 2 snake over it even though the new Z is quick as heck, it's missing that raw connected feel. I'd also love to build an Ultima, but that's a tad outta my price range right now lol.

What do you think about the new Viper? 8.4L v10 with 600 HP and 560 lbs ft. of torque. My dad is interested... he loves the look and how can you NOT like the performance.

It's in my blood as well but it seems only me and my little brother (12) are the only ones into it. My 2 other brothers prefer trucks for looks and practical reasons. My dads favorite car when he was running around was his 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum, his brothers had Dusters (one we bought a while ago and sold of with a 340). I heart speed
