2007 Black BMW 335i Correction - TLC Auto Detail

Today we have a 2007 BMW 335i that has been scheduled for a two step correction. The vehicle was by no means in terrible shape, but did need some TLC to get it looking like new. As anyone who has correct black BMW paint knows it can be very rewarding, but can also be quite a challenge to get perfect. So onto the products and procedures...

Wash and decontamination
Pre soaked lower panels with Optimum Power Clean to loosen up tar and bugs
Entire car foamed with mixture of Meguiars Gold Class and Optimum Power Clean
Wash via two bucket method with Ultima Car Soap via/ RG wool mitt
Dried with electric leaf blower and waffle weave Mf towels

Clayed with super special "yellow clay" with Dodo Juice Born to be Slippery as clay lube
Iron X applied to entire vehicle, agitated, and rinsed off

Wheels and tires
Wheels cleaned with multiple applications of Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner
Tires and wheel wells cleaned with Optimum Power Clean 3:1
Wheel wells and tires dressed with Detailers Pride Tire Gel cut 1:1 and sprayed on
Wheels sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond

Correction
Compounded with Scholls Concepts S03+ on wool pad on Dewalt DWP849X
Polished with Scholls Concepts S17 on Hydrotech Cyan pad on PCXP
Jeweled with Scholls Concepts S40 on hydrotech Crimson pad on Dewalt DWP849X

LSP
Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant

On to the pics!!!

Wheels when I got the car. These are definitely on a BMW!!! The brake dust was insane on these wheels, and actually had gotten baked into the wheels. Some of it could not be removed even with acid. All in all the wheels still came out nicely.

Sonax in action!! Looked like a crime scene in my driveway!

Engine bay wasn't too bad, but had some thick dust and dirt build up on most of it. Here is the engine before.

And here it is after it's all cleaned up and dressed.

Now on to the real work. Considering how easy this paint is to mar and that it's never been corrected before, it really wasn't in THAT bad of shape. Here is what I was dealing with on the entire vehicle.

Before we get to the sun shots and final after pictures here are some nice reflection shots I took along the way. Some were taken before the car was totally done so don't mind the dirty windows or smudges.

Now here are a few sun shots. i was running out of time so I didn't get as many as I would have liked. This is before any LSP was applied to the vehicle.

Here is one just having fun

the interior was in great shape. All it required was a wipe down, vacuum, and dressing of the dash, door cars, and leather.

Looks GREAT, Dave. I swear some BMW blacks just marr as soon as I look at it.....very nice!! Don't forget to put the plate back on...LOL

Not to be rude, but I find that a bit of a personal question....JMO

If you are looking for this gentleman to do work on one of your vehicles, perhaps a PM would be better suited!

Thanks. I charged 20 hours times my hourly rate

Thanks Doc! Funny you mention the plate, I drove 3 miles down the road without it on. It was still the the trunk from when I took it off. Fortunately I had a screwdriver with me still....LMAO

Thanks! I was amazed how red it got, I've never seen it like that before!!!

Thanks Dee! It was a toss up between the BFWD and the UPGP like you suggested. Only reason I went with this is because I couldn't get an MF or foam applicator not to mar....lol
