| | The tax is more complex than 30-50%, you dont pay as much if you have lent money etc. Not so strange that Norway is among the riches countrys in the world. They sell/send all the gas and electricity abroad, and we who live here have to buy it back to higher price. But all in all i cant complain, never hungry, never freeze (unless im outside)
Learnd English at AGF, Lauren tought me
English in school for 9 years+ for everyone in Norway (doing the best i can). Move to the US would be cool, a warm place would be nice, not like this:

I don't see how people can affore to live there. You need to move to the US, Truls. Where did you learn to write English so good? | After a quick search, the average salary in the US is around $40,000.

I'm an university degree marketing manager in one of the biggest company in Poland. I earn 18000 usd per year, minus taxes and life insurance it's about 12000usd/year and it's good salary!
Prices:
1litre of gas - 1,2$
Car prices - vistit a website of any car producers witt ".pl" domain, check price and divide it for 3 (for example Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi Ghia = 28 600$)
Maguiar's Quick Clay = 24,99$
Want more?
If you're uneployed you get 100$/moth (in Poland 20% are unemployed) Try to live with that money!

| | | SinNameOn - It sounds like in Norway your Ford Focus would cost 150,000 US Dollars and gas is 2.00 US Dollars per Litre and everything is taxed at about 50%. Overall people in Poland might be better off the Norway.
Truls, Is that your beautiful car you detailed last week sitting out in the snow. |

| | | Want to know how much taxes are in my country? They are 55%. Yes, that's right, FIFTY FIVE PERCENT! That's a ton, right? But then again, all medical bills/issues are taken care of for you (Belgium has a great medical system), and for example going to University if free (you only have to buy your books). Belgium has such a good educational system that people from neighboring countries send their kids to school to Belgium! So, even though it might sound bad on one side, there is always another side that makes up for it.
But all in all, I'm happy that I now live in Texas! YEE HAAW!!! |

And everything you buy, (exept food 12%) you pay 25% tax.. | Things in Poland are cheaper I agree, but polish average is about 7000 $! So all stuff is more affordable in Norway I think.
I've looked on www.ford Norway. FFocus Ghia costs about 45 500$. almost two times more than in Poland. But average in poland is 7 times smaller.
I don't complain at all. I love my country but hate our politician

(correct me if im way off here SinNameon) | Taxes on our income depends on how much you earn 35% and higher (every good you're buying is also taxed at 22% of it's value). That 35% tax includes health services and retiremnt fund. It looks good, but only on paper. The truth is if when you're cold or have a flu you can see the doctor "for free" but if you have a toothache or you're really sick or you need a surgery you're have to wait or pay.
Example: My wife's grandfather have had problems with eyes. Without surgery he was going to be blind in 4 months. The doctors say that he can pay 2000$ or wait up to one year. He was paying his health services for 40 years and now there's no money for his operation!!
Truls, you're right no one lives for 100$ 'cause it's immposiible to do that. Lots of people work illegally or go to work abroad.
P.S. I hope you understand my poor english
