I drove about 150 miles round trip on Saturday with hundreds of other car enthusiasts to drop off toys for Toys For Tots and it was pouring rain and also the highways were still nasty from the snow and ice storm a few weeks ago.
I figured this would be a nice test for the ONR I just ordered.
Next time I'll hose off the lower parts of my car out in the driveway to get all the road debris off instead of all up in my microfiber towel
I switched between my plush cobra mf's and a sheepskin mit from wal-mart and both did well.
I mixed up a solution of ONR and water to make the QD in a spray bottle and presoaked areas of the car before going over with my MF or mit.
I'm really impressed by this stuff!
When I told my wife I was washing my car in the garage she wasn't too happy but came out later to see what I was doing and was amazed that my car was all clean and asked where all the water was, lol. She said she was expecting a huge mess!
Very nice! Personally, I like DP 4-in-1 a little better as I feel it offers more lubricity but both are great. Another thing I do is I use a 2 gallon pesticide sprayer to spray on wash solution instead of a tiny spray bottle. It's SO much easier.
Man I want to try this out! I just do to many SUVs that are covered in mud and feel that I must use my pressure washer to remove it. I guess I could then wash with ONR. The time save by washing and drying together would be nice.
Did you notice if you actually saved any time versus a regular wash?

Thanks. I bought 32oz of the DP stuff on sale so I'll try that out as well. I might even try the pesticide sprayer since I recall us having one lying around somewhere

Mayber I'll get better at it but I think it takes me longer. But at least I'm not outside freezing my toes off
That washing without water stuff scares me.....dont like it at all.
Seriously. NO swirls/scratcing?
Just have to be careful and let the weight of the towel or mit do the job. I sprayed a lot of water/ONR mixture onto the areas to loosen up the dirt before I went over them with the towel/mit. My car looks like I washed it the old fashioned way
I'll walk around the car later today with the halogens to see if there are any swirls on the other side but the driver side looked great.

As the other Mike has already mentioned, you can use these washes without scratching the paint. The technique is a little different, but once you get it down it's easy.

Personally, it doesn't take me much less time but I'm VERY slow and methodical. I know Scottwax over on Autopia uses the Optimum on all the cars he details. He never uses a hose. You should check with him.

That is exactly what always keeps me from doing it! ???? Seems illogical, but looks fantastic.
Supra in blue ... ahh, I am in love.
Miss my white Supra........

Very impressive!! I think it's great that you do the Toys for Tots as well! Here, it's a bunch of Harley guys that do the deliveries for Toys for Tots. You just see this large caravan of rough looking guys with a big sack of toys on their bikes.
