Detailed: 2006 Mustang Convertible

The owner of this cool car was a teacher of mine and currently teaches my son. She lost her husband last year and decided to buy the car they both wanted forever. They even had a similar own when they were first married back in the 60's. I've been just washing/vacuuming over the last months and she finally decided to have it fully detailed with winter coming up. The top needed to be cleaned too. Sorry if the pics aren't up to par. It was getting late and I was running out of light.

There's a little of an experiment going on here so read on.....

Start Time:
2:30pm
End Time:
6:00pm
Payment:
200.00

Meguiar's NXT Car Wash with 1 teaspoon of Dawn per gallon
(Used wash ShMitt and 2 gallons of water)

Optimum's New Formula Polish and Poli-Seal Combo
(EDGE2K Orange Polishing Pad at a #5 PC setting)
This is the experiment I was talking about. I'm looking for the best one-step product found (or made). After seeing what Poli-Seal can do by itself, why not try to make it better? I place several dime sized drops of OPS and of OP onto my pad. It went on very smooth and cleaned up quick. I varied the amounts but came to this ratio.....25% Polish and 75% Poli-Seal. I'll be mixing up a sample bottle after this to try on others. The car had minimal swirling and the combo did away with them while cleaning as well. The big thing will be the durability. I told the customer what I was doing and let her know that I would re-seal if needed. I bet I don't have too!

Here's my pad with combo....

Other Products used:
Meguiar's Detailer Line APC
(4:1 for interior cleaning and mats)
Meguiar's Detailer Line Super Degreaser
(4:1 for tires, wells, and engine bay)
Meguiar's Detailer Line Hyper Dressing
(1:1 for all interior panels)
Meguiar's Detailer Line Leather Cleaner/Conditioner
(Applied with MF applicator to all leather including door inserts)
Meguiar's Detailer Line Wheel Brightner
(4:1 and took 2 coats on these cast wheels. Used wheel ShMitt and rubber gloves)
DP's Wheel Glaze
(Applied with MF applicator. Was amazed at what still came off.)
Armor All Tire Foam
(Applied while wet, let sit for 2 minutes and wiped clean with MF mitt)
(Also used on the engine. Sprayed on wet motor, closed hood, and let run for 15 mins. Came back and wiped down with MF mitt.)
Armor All Tire Gell
(Not shown. Was running out of light for pics)
303 Convertible Top Cleaner
(Amazing stuff. Spray on the wet top and scrubbed with my wheel ShMitt. I'm buying more!)
Stoner's Invisible Glass
Duragloss Aborb-It!
(Customer is a heavy smoker but it did way with it. This stuff is so good.)

Whewwwww!

Befores.....

OMG, Justin you out done your self, that thing is AMAZING. I dig those rims. Interior and engine looks clean, real nice, better then new. Great job. I hope when she gets in that Stang, she will quit smoking. Thanks for the tips on mixing of products!

Well, it gets 3-4 months by itself. I'm expecting 4-6 weeks at least. I have yet to use a good one stepper that will last past 1 month. I think this combo will be a hit.

Why would optimum polish help add durability to Poli-seal? Isn't it just a swirl remover?

I said Poli-Seal gets 3-4 MONTHS and I expect to get 4-6 WEEKS out of this combo. I suspect that the added polish will cut down on the durability.
