Re: Carpet Cleaning...*Old Oil Stains*
I've never tried it on car interiors but anytime I get grease on my clothes, I put Lestoil on the spots and let them sit a few hours - then wash them and the grease is gone.
Just a thought and maybe something you might try.

I wonder if a steamer and heat-activated chemicals could do more for that carpet?

If the stains wont come out , you may have to dye the carpet. A auto parts store should carry the carpet dye in a spray can . Hope you can find the right color.

Just throw a mat over it.

be careful with the chemicals. they reach a point where they will dissolve the carpet very quickly. you might have to settle for nearly great. but the fun is in the learning curve.

Most of yall are missing the point. A 10 year old set in motor oil stain is pretty dam hard to come out. I was just testing the extractor and chemicals out. The chemical used in this area was meant to get oil stains out...now I dont now if it is meant for this old and baked of one, but it did a pretty dam good job.

Not much, odds are most of the oil bleed through and got soaked/dryed into the sheet below the carpet.

LOL You should have seen those door hinges when I first got it. If you saw the whole truck over-all those door hinges would seem amazing!

Oh yeah I knew from the get go that the stain wasnt fully coming out, I just wanted to see how well the extractor/chemical combo would work on a stain that bad.

LOL Thats actually what I do. Generally I would all the floor mats placed upside down in the back covering most of that area up lol.
