| | | Detailed: 2004 Winnie (Round 2) I did this motorhome back in August with the help of my brother. I had to do this time on my own. The owner own's the local marina and I do all 9 of his rides. I've posted most of them on here. He is getting ready to head out to Colorado this weekend on a hunting trip and wanted it washed and waxed. I got up at 6 this morning and headed out. It was freak'n 38 degrees! I didn't realize too that the sun was now coming up an hour later here. So I got there and sat in my truck and drank some coffee. When daylight broke, I started washing it. Using my brush, I broke it down in sections. It had mostly road film. I was amazed to see some beading still from the Meg's Cleaner Wax I used almost three months ago on it. After rinsing, I strapped on a Stihl backpack leaf blower that the customer had in his garage. WOW! I thought my 160lb. body was gonna come off the ground! I dried it and then towelled it down with the aid of a 4 foot step ladder.....I'm tall. He wanted durability so out came the Collinite No. 845 and Collinite Super DoubleCoat Auto Wax #476. Here's the entire process....
Start Time:
7:30am
Finish Time:
2:00pm
Payment:
38ft. X 12.00 per foot=
456.00 Washed with Meguiar's NXT (Used my wash brush and add one cup of Meg's APC to the 5 gallons of water) DP's Mild Swirl Remover (EDGE2K Yellow Pad at a #5 PC setting) I used this mainly on the front of the coach. There were multiple layers of wax applied by the customer in hopes of easy bug removal. I wanted a clean slate for the 845 and Double Coat. I also polished up the side compartments and handles due to mild tree branch scratching. Collinite's No.845 Insulator Wax (EDGE2K Blue finishing pad at a #4 PC setting) I've learn to pre-lube the pad well with water for No.845 to go on easy. Once my pad was well loaded, I could go far with very little of this wax. I put it on thin and even with overlapping swipes. I let dry for 30 minutes while I did the other side. This time, it came off so easy by hand and Cobra MF. There was a very slick feel to. I also made sure to shake the bottle very well......for about 5 minutes. I believe this helped since it seemed thinner then when I used it last week. I even used it on the mirrors. Collinite's Super DoubleCoat Auto Wax #476 (Applied and removed by hand.) After letting the 845 sit and cure for about 2 hours on the front, I came back with this wax. Once again, I wet down my MF applicator pad. This time with Wolfgang's Spritz Detailer. This really help the product to go far. It went on very smooth. I let haze for 30 minutes and removed easily by hand. I wanted the ultimate protection on the front and believe I may have it here.
