Detail by mshu7: 2004 Black Mazda3

Hey all! I did this detail over the weekend. It's a black '04 Mazda3. This guy is a member of the Mazda3 board that I frequent. He's a college student so his car doesn't get to see a lot of TLC since it sits outside all the time.

Process:
- Wash with NXT
- Clay with Meg's clay & DP 4-in-1 as lube
- Polish with PB's SSR line-up
- Protect with PB EX-P
- Final wipe down with Clearkote Quik Shine

Other Products Used:
- Meg's Quik Interior Detailer
- Meg's NXT Glass Cleaner
- Meg's High-Endurance
- Meg's Plast-X for headlights & taillights
- Meg's ScratchX to remove scuff marks on rear bumper cover
- 303 Aerospace Protectant

There were still some scratches, swirl marks, & water etching that I was unable to get out. Overall though, it turned out pretty good.

Befores:

Nice job! Black is a pain in the butt, but you handled it well, like the fall trees in the background!

Thanks Meghan. The fall leaves in the background definitely were a plus when it came to the final pics.

Yes I am jealous, we did pics this weekend, reflections for us consist of palm trees, they are lovely but after awhile they get old! So I used my neighbors house as a reflection!

Looks beatiful!!! You did a great job! I love the tree with the turning leaves. I've never seen that in person. Ay one of these day's I'll have to go up north to do the whole winter and fall thing.

Thanks, I really appreciate it!

I'm finding out that fall leaves really compliment a good detail job . I'm on vacation all next week so hopefully I can get both my cars detailed (final detail before winter) and capture some more great reflection shots with the turning leaves.

Nice work. How much did you charge if I may ask? College students usually = broke.

Ya know, when he told me he was in college, I was surprised he wanted a detail. Since he lives an hour away, I had to quote him going off of his car domain webpage so I couldn't really tell what the true condition of the paint was. We agreed on $175 before I saw the car. I know not to quote a job w/o seeing the car first, but I didn't feel like I had much of an option on this one.
