P21s & S100

As others said I've never really understood the fascination with P21/S100, it just looks like a normal wax, doesn't have the depth or wettness that NB, Souv, or Max Wax etc. And durability is very weak. In that price range your much better off with NB or Max Wax. Though a family friend uses it all the time on his Busa.

MaxWax = $20 with just about any other purchase... Good deal.... especially when you combine with a % off sale or free shipping....

Although right now on DC, Steve (PB's) is blowing out some "damaged" NB for $7. I had to pick up 2. I will probably give 1 or both away to friends or my dad.

How would Max Wax compare to Pinnacle Signature Series II in terms of appearance, ease of use, and durability?

You don't use a carnauba if durability is important to you. I haven't ever used a carnauba wax that lasts longer than 6 weeks. If durability is important then you need to go the synthetic sealant route.

I like the appearance of Signature a little better, but S100 has some other benefits. It doesn't attract dust as bad as other waxes. It also tends to rinse cleaner when driving in the rain and slush. Your car still gets dirty, but the dirt doesn't stick to the car as bad and it just tends to look a little cleaner. That's why I mainly use it in the winter to top my Klasse SG.

I fully realize that a carnauba isn't used for durability. I was asking though because sometimes I detail for friends and family in which case I will top a sealant.

DP Max Wax seems like a very appealing product because many people like the way it looks, they say it is super easy to use and being that it has some polymers it should last longer than say Souveran.

So you say that you like the the apperance of Signature Series II better than DP Max Wax?, If Signature Series II has the same white ivory carnauba as Souveran that I suspect that might be why you like it better apperance wise. However, thinking out loud I wonder if the white ivory carnauba is less durable than a #1 yellow carnauba that is in Max Wax.

Maybe I'm just putting too much thought into this.

I think that Max Wax and Signature Series II are very close in all aspects. I have to say that I've only used them side by side on my own vehicle and I have a medium blue metallic paint so it's not as good as black is for comparisons, but I can tell you that on my car they are very close in appearance. Maybe Killer will chime in on this one. He has that nice black car that would really show any differences between the two.

I actually haven't used Max Wax yet. On my shelf I've got Souveran, Trade Secret, Paste Glaze, Signature, Natty's, Blitz, NXT, Vintage, S100, and P21S. And that is just the paste waxes. lol I don't think that shelf can support the weight of another jar of wax, so until I use up a little more of what I have, I think I'll have to wait a bit on the Max Wax. I'm sure it is great though, and I look forward to piting it against some very tough competition.
