JDM front end conversion

So... shortly after we finished detailing my friends Acura Integra Type-R pictured a previous thread, he decided that he wanted to convert the front end to JDM stock parts (hood, side panels, bumper, lip, radiator mount and headlights). Once all the parts were found at a reasonable price the work began.

Fortunately a friend has a full auto shop and paint booth on his property and is nice enough to let us use his space, equipment and teach us to use it. Just bring your own supplies.

Wow, that's a very nice friend you got there. I like the result of the conversion.

Re: JDM front end conversion

Thanks! He knows the ins and outs of painting pretty well but knows little about detailing/paint care. I really enjoyed exchanging knowledge.

I didn't get any pics, but a couple days ago we removed the rear wing from two Type-R's. The double stick foam adhesive was a PITA to deal with at first. Fortunately we got to practice on one that that owner didn't REALLY care about (that guy has 3, ridiculous) so when we got to my friends car we knew what we were doing. Fishing line was the trick, we 'sawed' through the foam adhesive strip leaving half on each piece then carefully rolled it off the paint with bare hands. Then Flex...

Soon I will be adding an S4 body kit to my A4, I can't wait to do a parts/paint/install/polish write up on my own car.

Very cool. Make sure to post the write-up here, I'm very interested in seeing it. I love those B5 A4's/S4's.

I will, it'll be a while though, new clutch going in now. Nice to hear, I had a mechanic tell me my car was ugly the other day

Nice work on the Integra.

As an owner of another 4th Gen Prelude, I really don't understand why he painted his car like that, but to each his own I guess.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but sometimes people are just WRONG.

I love the JDM front ends. Not a fan of later 90's integra front ends.
