04 Nissan Quest, Flex 3401, Meguiar's UC.

The original correction on the paint was done 2 weeks ago, but due to weather and an aching back pictures were not taken until today.
No befores because the van was in good shape and this paint in really hard to show swirls in.

Two weeks ago:
Washed with Duragloss shampoo using grout sponge and two bucket method.
Clayed with red Zaino clay using ONR clay lube solution.
Polished with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Flex 3401 on speed 5 using LC white Kompressor pad.
Glazed with Clearkote Red Moose Machine Glaze and Flex 3401 on speed 3 using LC black pad 7".
LSP was Collinite 915 (apparently applied too thickly)

Today:
Washed with ONR, grout sponge, two bucket method.
Dried with Cobra waffle weaves after spraying with Duragloss Aquawax.
Dressed trim with Poorboy's Trim restore (luggage rack, end caps on running boards, mudflaps.
Dressed rubber with Optimum Optibond (running board centers, rear bumper protector, tires.
Washed wheels with ONR and dried after spraying with Duragloss Aquawax.
Washed eggcrate grill using Meguiar's body brush, dressed grill with Stoner's More Shine Less Time.
Cleaned glass with two Wally world microfiber dish towels and Stoner's Invisible Glass.

The results:

Flake shot

Sun shot

Hope you enjoy the pictures. The paint is Sahara Gold. Clean it looks nice, dirty it looks like UPS brown.

Whoa, nice work. I was going to ask you what color paint that is. Really awesome job, you got some great reflections out of that paint.

How did you like Ultimate Compound by machine? What kind of correction level and finish did you wind up with? I got a sample of it and have only used it by hand with great success.

Anyways, thanks in advance... I love the flake shots

Thanks everyone for the great comments.

Christian900se,
I really liked UC by machine. It had a long working time and did not dust or gum up. I cleaned the pads between panels with a microfiber towel and had no problems at all using it.
For reference I have used Poorboy's 2.5, Meg 105 & 95, Menz SIP, 106ff and Final Finish. UC was perfect as a one step on a metallic finish. I am now thinking of trying Megs SwirlX to see how that works. It's cheaper than everything else I've got.

Hmm, thats good it worked out for you! I got a few samples at a car show I was in and tried it out recently on my parents cars (aka the test mules ). It was really great by hand, it corrected faster than most polishes I have used and finished down very well.

I have used UC on several occasions with a PC7424 and always been happy with results, also great to use by hand behind door handles to remove those common scratches

Thanks Sal,

I try to keep the wife's van up. It is great exercise as there are acres of paint to maintain.
