First detail project: Friend's 2004 Twilight Blue G35

I offered to help a friend restore their totally swirled G35 and get some experience on polishing paint. I used a PC 7424 and Wolfgang TSR for polishing:

Wash:
Meguiar's 62 car wash and conditioner
Cobra "The bone" wash mitt
Wheels: used an older MF towel

Dry:
Cobra HD guzzler drying towel

Polishing:
PC 7424 with LC pads
Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 kit

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 on LC Orange 6.5" pad
Wolfgang Finishing Glaze on LC White 6.5" pad

Sealant:
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant on LC Blue 6.5" pad

Wax:
Pinnacle Souveran on LC Red 6.5" pad (was pressed for time or else I would've done it by hand)

Wheels:
DP wheel glaze

Tires:
Wolfgang Tire Gel

Interior was recently detailed so she didn't want me to work on it.

Before: Not a great pic of before but I wanted to show you the swirls I was dealing with:

Picture of spoiler with heavy oxidation or buildup:

Pictures after first stage of polishing:

Pictures of hood of car finished with sealant:

Finished with a coat of Souveran:

Picture of headlight using WG plastik lens cleaning system: It was severely scratched. What you see is after only 1 application of headlight kit.

Overall pictures don't do it justice. The short days here make it difficult to get day time shots.

I hope you enjoyed them!

On a side note I dislike the fact that the PC buffs your hands. I'll be looking to get a Flex 3401 orbital buffer next.

Nice job, how did you like working with Wolfgang Swirl Remover and the glaze?

Re: First detail project: Friend's 2004 Twilight Blue G35

I liked working with the Wolfgang Swirl Remover kit. Made it real easy to work on and definitely eliminated all the swirls and all oxidation buildup on the car! Only the deeper scratches are present now. (Scratches that I will not try to correct)

The depth of the color is restored and it definitely made the metallic stand out more than before.

Most importantly she's happy with the results.
