New Combo on my Camaro

I tried something a little new today.

First, I washed the wheels and tires with Duragloss 901 car wash, a Eurow sheepskin mitt, and Griot's tire brush. Then, I moved to the paint, which was washed with Griot's Car Wash and a Eurow sheepskin mitt. Once thoroughly washed, I pulled it in the garage and dried completely with a waffle weave.

From there, I added some Red Moose Machine Glaze to the last of my Vanilla Moose and polished the paint using a Lake Country polishing pad via PC on speed 5. The next step is where I tried something a little different - I spritzed Optimum Car Wax over each panel and instead of buffing, I used it as the "spit" and applied Pinnacle Souveran on top using a Zaino cotton applicator. I made my way around the whole car using this method, and then I used Duragloss Aqua Wax like a QD to remove the wax residue. I finished it up by dressing the wells with Armor All and the tires with Zaino Z16 Tire Dressing and an Eagle One Tire Swipe.

The result was a deep, wet finish. I'm not sure it's a drastic improvement over the RMG/Souveran combo, but it was fun to try something different. Who knows?...the look may improve overnight or the next couple of days.

Anyway, here are some direct sun pictures:

(excuse the rock chips)

Zane ... what did you think about Aquawax specifically ?? Ive given the nod to 425 even though it is not as slick. I just find that 425 is glossier immediately and does appear to offer some anti-static abilities.

Does your AW have a wierd sour smell trying to be hidden with a suntan / coconut type smell ??

I've used almost the whole bottle of Aqua Wax - both on a wet finish (as directed) and like a QD. I feel that it leaves a slicker finish when used on a wet vehicle. Overall, it seems like a very nice product for the money. I haven't noticed any sour smell.

I'm really not impressed with 425. It's a good QD, but it's just not *that* good like some seem to think.
