Silver BMW 645Ci - Used New Menzerna 106FA

I decided to try the "new" Menzerna 106FA on this Silver Bimmer 645Ci. First, it was compounded with 3M Perfect-It 3000 and a wool pad. Then a quick power wash and dry to apply the Menzerna 106FA.

The biggest difference between the FA and the FF is the increased working time available and the haze that needs to be wiped off with a microfiber towel. The older FF could be polished to clear but the new FA produces an absolutely liquid gloss.

I'll probably put a coat a Souveran tomorrow as a topper.

Pics:

(After compounding but before 106FA)

After 106FA with a dark finish pad

Even the "Mr 3M Dealer" liked the gloss of Menzerna...I swear he's on their Board of Directors LOL.

Wow.... Very glossy silver. I wish that my silver car would look like this. Thanks for sharing Toto. Hope to see the picts after a coat Souveran wax. Thanks.

Toto, your camera seems to be malfunctioning as that black BMW turned out looking silver.

Re: Silver BMW 645Ci - Used New Menzerna 106FA

yeah, I've heard of the trick to mix Clearkote RMG with PO106FF (30/70 mix) to get similar results. I tried it and it really worked. I used it on my wife's black BMW ('04 325Ci), and it really did increase working time and polished to a deep gloss. I'm sure FA is a nice product, but I gotta use up RMG...

Will using OP with 106ff yield the same results as using RMG? If so, would you use the 30/70 mixture? Been just adding a couple drops of OP to the pad.

yep...a bunch! With FF I could polish until the surface was clear (along with the dust). With FA, it left a residue haze that I could wipe with an mf towel. I noticed with FA on the hood that it was spraying a light oil sling like Ultrafina which is a good thing.
