2000 740iL

This car is a repeat customer from last year (fornicating mosquitos - Auto Geek Car Care, Car Wax and Auto Detailing Forum). The car has seen another year of automatic car washes There were also a few dents in both the front fender as well as the deck lid. My PDR guy to the rescue on those. (What an asset to have a PDR guy on call..really increases the service level you can offer). The driver's and driver's rear door had been painted which was visible by the orange peel. There is a pic of the door open and reflecting on the fender..the o.p. is visible in that shot. Those painted panels measured 8 mls with the ptg while the rest of the car only had 2 mls to work with. I was careful not to be too aggressive as to not thin it out too much. The rear 1/4 panel had multiple scratches that I improved upon by about 90-95% but didn't push it too far (I deliberately included a close up of that). Nonetheless, I was as happy with the result as last year. The hood shot was my signature shot for last year. 14 hour effort altogether.

The Process:

Wheels;Tires;Barrels;Wells
Wheels & barrels cleaned with carbrite mag aluminum cleaner
Wells cleaned with APC
Tires cleaned with APC
Tires subsequently dressed with DP gel
Wheels cleaned with XMT 360
Wheels sealed with DG 105
Wells dressed with Adams

Wash
2 bucket method
Dry with leaf blower

Paint:
Compounded with rotary using UCCL (PG where necessary) with foamed wool pad at 3000 rpm
Polished with rotary using Micro polish and gray LCC pad at 1000/1500/1000
Cleaned with rotary using DG 501 with blue LCC pad at 1000 rpm
Glazed with rotary using DWG using blue LCC pad at 1000 rpm
DG 601/105 applied by hand
AW after curing period

Exterior Trim:
Lower trim dressed with DP tire gel
Upper trim dressed with black wow

Interior:

Rubber mats cleaned with APC and dressed with Tire foam
Carpet vacuumed
Leather cleaned/treated with DG 221/441
Plastic surfaces treated with 303 Aerospace
Door jams cleaned with ONR and finished with AW

BEFORES:

DENT REMOVAL CHALLENGES:

I forgot to shoot the ones on the hood.

WOW....X 2!!!!!!

Nice correction on that Bimmer. The older 7 Series really stand out when they are done correctly.

Great Job Sir!

It is just amazing how people will negelect their vehicles after spending good money the first time, great for us. Great work and yes I wish I had a PDR guy on call. Again great work, tell this guy to keep it out of car washes and bring it to you.
