2006 BMW 330i-Wolfgang 3.0 Review

This is a detail of a 2006 BMW 330i. Thankfully the client was able to drop the car off to me to work on over two days since the weather was not cooperating here in the East. High heat and humidity and thunderstorms. The client requested a one step polish (exterior only). I couldn't let him drive his car home with a dirty interior so I cleaned it up for him free of charge. Just a simple vac and wipe down.

Day One:

Foam with Meguiars NXT Wash Soap and ## CWG
Wash with 2 bucket method and Ultima Wash Soap
Clean wheels with Eagle One A to Z
Clean wells and tires with Eagle One Tire and Rubber Cleaner
Clay with Meguiars White Clay

The wheels on these BMW's are making me want to invest in some Megs Wheel Brightner. So hard to clean the inner barrels.

Day Two:

I started the day very early at about 8AM and the humidity was already at 85% so I knew it was not going to be a good "Menzerna Day" I went through some of my polishes and decided to try 1Z HGP. It performed flawlessly removing about 90-95% of the marring. The key I found is to work it at very low rpms (900-1200 max). I was surprised on how well it did. The clear coat on this car must have been soft.

I finally got to try some of the new Wolfgang 3.0 Sealant and I must say it is a breeze to use. Much easier than the original version. I let it sit for about 20 mins and buffed of with no issues even with the high humidity. Great product..highly recommend.

Polish with 1Z HGP via Makita 9227 and 3M black waffle weave pad.
LSP=Wolfgang 3.0 sealant
Exhaust polished with Meguiars Hot Rims Chrome Polish and 0000 steel wool.
Tires dressed with Meguiars Hot Shine Tire Dressing
Wheel wells dressed with Street Appeal Tire Dressing

Pics:

This is what I had to contend with as soon as the detail was done. I had to clean up the car twice with the storms. At least the client got to see the car clean when he picked it up

Hey Pat: for those Bimmer wheels (especially the inner rim), get some AutoMagic Spoke and a Zep spray bottle. Stout stuff and you need a pressure washer to make sure it is 100% removed, but it cleans in 30 seconds.

My process is: spray front wheel, spray back wheel, power wash front wheel and back wheel. Then, I spray APC on both to neutralize any remaining product and power wash again. Then move to the other side and repeat. I typically do all 4 wheels in approx. 10 minutes.

Looks good Sir!

Toto

I recommend trying Poorboy’s World Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner. Nothing I've tried is stronger. Follow it with Poorboy’s World Wheel Sealant and you can clean the wheels next time with just soap and water. At least that has been my experience. If the wheels are not that dirty then I really like P21S Wheel Cleaner.

The car looks great by the way!

Hey Toto where do you get the Automagic spoke product from? Would like to try some of that product. I have some bimmers coming up real dirty rims.

It certainly is a great option and a very strong wheel cleaner. Make sure to follow directions and no issues should insue. Cool wheels, wet first, allow to stand, and spray liberally. No agitation was ever needed.

Nice job. I like the terra leather even though I am a bit disappointed in the current 3-series interior style/feel.

You should have an AutoMagic rep near you...check around. If not, you might give Poorboy's product a try. I've sure they are both acids judging by the directions.
