| | | BMW X3 Black Metallic - Finished Shots Well, I finished another black Bimmer...(3 so far) and have a Gray 530i in the line.
My dealer gave me explicit instructions to only post finished shots of cars because he had a potential customer "find" some posted pics of the car he was interested in that showed some in-process work on scratches being done. I can truly understand the predicament the dealer was placed in, so from now on, I'll just post finished pics with the products I used.
This X3 was a start-to-finish System One Polish X3 and a final coat of 3M Performance Finish wax. I have to say, the 3M product (which AutoGeek carries I believe) is very similar to Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant. It goes on quite easily with a pc and really gives a super slick finish. Nice stuff and decently priced.
Here ya go folks:
If I do post some in-process pics, I'll crop them so the actual car won't be shown...just the process area (like a scratch).

At present, I use the System One Foam/Wool 8 inch pad on big areas, then switch to the Edge 6 inch wool pads for bumper curves, headlights, etc. They (Edge) are supposed to come out with 6 inch Foam/Wool for the System One product and I'll definitely get some. At present, I use the Yellow or Green Edge pads on the 6 inch diameter, then switch to another rotary and use a finish pad on a regular backing plate.

The depth it gives a vehicle is incredible. However, the BMW's I do are all up for sale and I need a good quality product that will last some time with an owner that gives the car ? treatment.
System One Polish provides a great base for compounding and polishing with a single product.

And, it is a 6 Series Bimmer with a price to boot! The potential customer didn't care, but just mentioned it and the dealer thought I blindsided him. So, to maintain peace and tranquility in the shop, I'll do finished pics or crop pics of a process so a viewer won't know which car it is.
Oh well, I'll still have plenty of finished pics to show.

| | | Re: BMW X3 Black Metallic - Finished Shots Great work as always Toto and thanks for sharing. As far as only showing the finished pics, I see it as just one more area where your professionalism sets a standard we should all try to show - it's the customers cars... respect them.
