Quick (for me) BMW 545i and Sun Shots of 745Li both black

Well, well, well, the sun does exist! I was able to pull out the Black 745Li today to shuffle cars and get a black metallic 545i on the lift. This is a pre-sold car, so the dealer wanted it done asap.

Here's the 2002 745Li in all her glory!

On to the 545i. Newer car with car wash scratches. Used a wool pad and Meg's 83 which worked somewhat good but left the deeper scratches still in the paint. I have a sample of Meguiar's 105 compound and blasted away with that. Whoa! Worked like a charm....very dusty stuff (even more than System One). Followed that with 3M Dark Glaze and I'll power wash tomorrow and add a coat of wax.

I didn't get a chance to do some good "before's" due to time limitations.

Start-To-Finish on the paint was 9 hours.

3M Dark Glaze is really a polish like Menzerna. It's in the Perfect-It 2 product line and was replaced (supposedly) by the Swirl Remover in the Perfect-It 3 line. It's a good polish and finishes completely so you can see your progress.

I don't even know if it's still available in the current product line, but if you can get some, try it.

Re: Quick (for me) BMW 545i and Sun Shots of 745Li both black

Finally got the 545i out of the shop and gave it a final power wash...started out cloudy, then the sun popped out.

Delivery tonight and I start on a metallic black X3 tomorrow.

It's a killer bottle. The word has it that it will be put out but I hope not. According to what I have heard 3M is buying polishes and refine them themselves. If so one should be able to find it elsewhere.

As always an amazing job. God knows this is detailing!
