Mustang Drag Car with Self-Serv Car Wash Wax

Man, oh man. One of my customers decided to spray wash his Mustang Drag Car and use the wax at the end of the wash. What a mess! I literally stained the car with streaks all over.

Process:
Optimum No Rinse Wash (1st time using and love it!)
Meg's DACP with polish pad to clean off the stains
Poorboy's SSR 2.5 and a light cut pad (took the longest)
Klasse AIO
Wolfgang Sealant

For the most part, this is OEM paint and hasn't been taken care of for a long time.

More stains and overall dull appearance of the white paint.

Final shot and I even got the rubber from the bottom rear fender!



All-in-all, the car is in good shape and doesn't get weathered because it is trailered to race tracks. The paint is thin in a few places, but should hold up for a long time with normal maintenance.

wytstang: I'll find out the class details and post them. I do know, it runs mid 8 sec. and competes in NMRA.

Justin: The main reason I tried it was practice for cooler Fall temps and winter occasional garage washes.

I pretty much followed the directions on the bottle. At first I was skeptical because the solution didn't "feel" different than ordinary water. I used my Autogeek bucket with grit guard and soaked a mf towel, then partially squeezed the excess water and washed from the top down. I did the roof, dried it with another mf towel, then started on a body panel at a time.

Overall, I'm pleased with the results and it's different to use, but you quickly adapt. I know Scottwax on Autopia uses it all the time for his customers and I highly value his comments.

I'm going to try it on a dirtier car than the Mustang and further get used to using it.

I to am going to start praticing for the winters here. I know Scottwax well also. He a mod at Offtopic.com's detailing section. He uses it and loves.......so does his customer. Will be so awesome not to rinse a car! The time and water one would save over a week's time!
I wonder how dirty you can go before an normal wash? Or do you just pre-rinse the dirt off first?

Justin I use QEW and what I do is mix 2oz of QEW and 30oz of h20 in a 32oz bottle and presoak a panel before washing with my sheepskin mitt.
