Marks on a Lexus

My Sister-in-Law gave me a nice Birthday present of an AG gift certificate. The weather was beautiful today and I think she heard from my wife that I was detailing the wife's Quest. She (my Sister-in-law) had some gunk on her car that she wanted me to remove. She said “I can get it off using my finger nail, but I'm guessing that is not the best thing to do.” I told her to please not do that and to bring the car over in the afternoon.

When she arrived I was appalled at how filthy her car was! OY! It was so dirty and I have no idea what she had all over the car. Mostly along one side. It looked like someone took a purple marker and made streaks.

I knew this was going to be a tough one.

Wheels:
I used Amazing Roll Off on the tires and wheel wells and P21S gel on the wheels. I was surprised at the amount of filth that poured off when rinsing the wheels. After the was was done I dressed the tires with DP Gloss tire gel and sprayed Duragloss Aqua Wax on the wheels.

Wash:
I started with spraying it down with water and then soaked it with PB Super Slick & Suds via the foam gun. The marks were not coming off with the schmitt so I grabbed my Pinnacle Bug Scrub and squirted some PB Bug Squash on it. The marks didn't stand a chance. They just fell away. I practically washed the whole car with the Pinnacle Bug Scrub and a black Shmitt. It was THAT dirty. I had to foam it a couple of times and finally went over it one last time with the white Schmitt.

I used the Leaf blower with Air Wand attachment to dry the car and followed up with a Cobra Guzzler.

Paint correction:
I then went after the paint using the UDM, an LC green pad and PB Polish with Sealant (I bought the PWS with the gift certificate she had given me). The PWS was fantastic! There were a few tiny marks still on the paint and the PWS took them right off and left a shiny slick finish. I was surprised at the amount of correction I got out of the PWS. I'd come across a little spot that I thought was a paint chip and before I knew it it was gone!

Glass:
Dianondite Glass Cleaner and a WW cobra.

Interior:
It was getting late so I just did a quick vacuum and wipe down with PN Natural Look.

It was getting dark as she brought the car over at 3:00. That PWS is a huge time saver! I finished the detail at 5:00. I got my teenager to help me a bit so that also cut down on the time. Since it was late I did not top the PWS. Except that I had the teenage boy do a wipe down with PB Spray & Gloss.

She picked up the car was was ecstatic that I had cleaned it so well and got those nasty marks off the car. She was very happy.

Before (the car was much dirtier than the picture shows):

Look at these nasty marks!

Re: Marks on a Lexus

Came out real nice. Boy that car was in rough condition, it sure is amazing how some folks let their cars go that bad. I'd guess you'll be giving a little talking to to the owner. lol

Re: Marks on a Lexus

That looks great. Easy to see why she would be ecstatic. Huge bonus family points on that one.
