Black BMW X5 - Rough Trade-In

This trade-in for a previously detailed X5 was in pretty rough shape. Lots of scratches and highway miles (120/k on the odometer).

Exhaust Tips

After

Scratch samples

I wet sanded the worst areas and used System One Polish X3 with a wool pad, followed by X3 with a foam pad. It's proven to be a real workhorse.

These BMW running boards are definitely not my favorite...but they do show a decent reflection

Rear Quarter after X3 and wool then foam

Wheel Wells cleaned in the shop (snow and ice outside). Used a bucket + apc + brush and lots of old terry rags

I have to finish the hood and pillars tomorrow, then tackle the nasty interior.

Toto

Master Toto.....what I would give to work for you free for two weeks to learn. I'd likely learn more in two weeks than I have in the past six years. This X5 is another toad to a tulip in your hands.

You always do great work. The X5 was trashed and you really made it look fantastic. Great Work!
I got my System 1 Kit yesterday. I could not resist, the reveiws on that product were unbelieveable. I can't wait to use mine. If I can put my Flex down for a few and pick up my rotory, I know the product will do what it says!
What about those wheel wells,Yuk!

Re: Black BMW X5 - Rough Trade-In

All Done before 2008!

I added a coat of Meguiar's M21 sealant with my trusty pc and a finish pad. This Bimmer is now ready for a new owner. Sure doesn't look like a 120,000 mile road warrior now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE....PLEASE STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY!

Toto
