    2015 Chevy Silverado

Big trucks seem to be the theme lately in Show N' Shine.

2015 Chevy Silverado – Polish and Seal

The owner of this truck brought it to me straight from the body shop after having hail damage and another large dent repaired. We discussed the options since the one door and rear pillar had just been repainted.

We decided on a one step polish and seal to prepare for the ND winter. Next spring I will do a full correction and coating when all of the paint can be touched.

    Process

    Wheels, Wells and Tires
    - GG HD Wheel Cleaner – various brushes and IncrediFlair mitt
    - Megs D108 and OPC APC– Tuff Shine Tire Brush
    - Wheels sealed with Hyrd02
    - Tires dressed with Opti-Bond 1:1

    Wash and Decon
    - 2BM wash with Optimum Car Wash
    - IronX
    - Clayed with NanoSkin Wash Mitt
    - Dried with GG PFM drying towel and Master Blaster

    Polish
Several test spots were completed with the following:
    - GG Fast Correcting Cream
    - Sonax Cut & Finish
    - HD Speed
    - Jescar Heavy Correction Compound
    - White and Orange LC Hybrid foam pads

    - Flex 3401 with orange hybrid pads
    - Jescar Heavy Correction Compound
    - Rupes Nano iBrid and orange CarPro foam pads
    - CarPro Eraser wipe down

    LSP / Sealant
    - Jescar PowerLock+
    - Hydr02 (grill, bumpers, wheels)

    Plastic trim sealed with WETS

    Pictures when delivered

The paint had a lot of scratches from automatic car washes and some rids. The GM clear was extremely hard and I found it difficult to capture good pics of the swirls/scratches. In person the damage was a lot more apparent.

After testing several polishes and pads I found the new Jescar Heavy Correction Compound with an orange LC Hybrid pad to give the best results. This combo gave good working time and no dusting. I have always liked using FG400 and this compound is very similar. I think it has longer play time and doesn't have the strong chemical/solvent smell compared to FG400.

I wasn't going for perfection now since I couldn't polish the entire vehicle. Next spring it will get the complete package of correction, fine polishing and topped with a coating.

    Finished Pics

Hydr02 sealing and beading real nice on the wheels and grill

It was 30 degrees and overcast outside so no sun shots. These were the best I could do.

    Thanks for looking!

Wow that looks really good! Beautiful transformation! I really like the beading shot of the grill.

Make sure to share when you do the coating next year.

    Thanks for sharing.
