    2007 Cayman (2 year refresh)

I did this car with CQF 2 years ago. This car gets driven; it gets some good track time which has not been easy on it. Having said that, the customer told me he constantly gets compliments on how good it looks every time he goes. Even though that may be the case, it still had some swirls that needed to be repaired and a general spruce-up. It looked pretty decent when it arrived for the most part:

Just like last time, the wheels were getting pulled and the barrels and calipers were going to be coated again.

I did my usual routine on the car. Wheels first. Barrels were first cleaned with Tarminator followed by Zep Citrus. The faces were done the same way. The tires were cleaned with Zep 505 and the wells with LATA.

The car was then washed with Megs HW followed by a second decontamination wash using IronX Paste. The car was then brought inside and clayed with a clay towel. After that it was blown off with my Master Blaster.

My schedule at work has changed and I am no longer strictly off on weekends. I had to re-schedule this vehicle in for my new schedule. Luckily the customer was flexible and willing.

First up was to remove the wheels. The barrels were cleaned intensively with Tarminator followed by DG Squeaky Clean. The barrels were given a double coat of DLux.

The faces were double coated with CQG as were the calipers. The wells were treated to my DG trim coating. The tires were shot with Opti Bond via an air gun before lowering the wheel to the ground.

Here are some "in progress" shots of the wheels being done:

The paint was given a two step process of M100 + black TB wool + 3401 followed by Essence + yellow B/S + 3401. A few more stubborn areas were attended to with SS Chop Top first if the M100 wasn't cutting it (pun intended). The exhaust tips were hand polished with a mf and 205. The head and tail lights were polished with the same 2 step process. The paint, head, tail lights and side and rear glass were all double coated with CQF. The windshield was coated with Fly By Forte. I did not put DLux on the trim as it was raining when the car got delivered so it got Opti Seal instead.

    Here it is inside:

It was just starting to spit rain when it was being delivered by I took a few shots nonetheless. No sun shots today, LOL.

Thanks for looking. Comments are always appreciated.

    Remarkable work Richy.

I admit at first, I wasn't overly excited about the blue but after being mesmerised by your ''after'' pictures its actually a really nice colour. Love the photo looking down on the Cayman badge, some serious depth in that shine Richy. Superb workmanship as always mate, thanks for sharing.

I hope your work schedule isn't too much of a juggle for your detailing.

I didn't know they had bugs that big in Canada.
But that's the type of car I like to start with. There is no way you can not tell if you finished and area, or not.

Great work as usual. I always have more fun working on a car where you can REALLY make a difference.
