Menzerna Polishing Compounds of Germany has set new standards for workability, uniformity, performance, and quality. Why else would Mercedes Benz use Menzerna polishes to perfect the finishes on their brand new vehicles?

Exclamation Winterized/detailed '02 infiniti I35

It's been a while since the last detail on this vehicle, and now it was time for it to be prepped for winter. No befores, just some during (engine) and afters.
This car wasn't in a bad condition, but it has been washed with NXT a few times, which stripped a coat of carnauba wax (Collinite 476S).
ENGINE: Anyway, I started with the engine, covered all sensitive parts, rinsed it off and sprayed ZEP Citrus Degreaser on engine, hoses, and plastic parts.
I used short handle green brush to remove dirt/grime. Rinsed. WIped off with a terry towel, sprayed the dressing on.I wiped off the remaining after 30 minutes.
TIRES/WHEELS: DP Gel wheel cleaner. Tires received a coat of DP Tire Gloss gel. Love this stuff!
WASH: I washed the whole car with Chem Guys Citrus wash-n-Gloss and added 3oz of Poorboy's Bug Squash to the bucket. Did a great job cleaning the car.
CLAY: I clayed the whole car including winshield and other glass with Mothers Clay bar and used my own clay lube as a lubricant (I noticed that sopa is too strong for the clay). Clay lube that I made is 2 oz of DP 4-in-1 added to 32 oz of filtered water, and I also added 1/2 of Poorboy's SS&S for additional lubricity. This stuff works very well, and is very cost efficient too.
SEALANT: this car didn't need any polishing, it only has a few minor scratches/swirls. I precleaned the surface with Duragloss #601 bonding agent. Just apply it on and let it vanish. Then applied a coat of DG #105 sealant. Love this stuff! Let it dry for about 30 minutes and removed it with a MF towel. This product goes on/off very easy; almost as easy as DP Surface Shield sealant.
GLASS: windshiled and all other glass received a coat of Klasse AIO. I love this stuff on windows. It removed light water spots, and makes water bead so well, which enhances safe driving.

Now on to the pics:

Engine dressing (Optimum Protectant Plus/Optimum Tire Shine 50/50)

thanks, Gary. I'm a fan of products that are easy to use, work well, and last long for winter prep. Duragloss #105 work very well.

Love that tire shine myself. Little glossy. DP tire gel gives me that perfect look.

Everytime I look at other guys' detail, I always look at detailed engine. It always teases me. I love detailed engine myself. Optimum is a good mixture for that.

Yeah, I've noticed that DG#105 gives me a better look then Klasse Twins, so I figured I'd try that for a winter prep.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

By the way Supercharged, when you did the engine, I see that you covered up all sensitive parts with plastic bags. When you hosed it down after degreasing, did you let the engine run so that it could dry? Or did you let it airdry?
