Brand New Kitten With Sharp Teeth: 2017 Jaguar F Type R
This gentleman found me via my website. He was looking for the best for his brand new 2017 Jaguar F Type R. We were intending on pulling the wheels but it turns out the locking wheel nut key was missing so that had to be skipped and I will get it back to do the barrels and calipers once it is located.
The car is brand new, so luckily there were no paint issues to deal with. Just bugs. Lots of bugs. Here in Canada, we call them June bugs or Fish Flies. They fly onto something and then die. When they're on the ground, they "crunch" when you step on them and they smell like fish. You get them when you live close to the water. Luckily in my area we just get monster mosquitoes. So here it is with a healthy dose of dead Fish Flies on the front:
The finish of the wheels and the calipers were obscured by the heavy brake dust this car generates:
There were some tar deposits on the lower panels:
Rear Wheel:
The washing stage on this car took longer than normal. First off I did the wheels as per usual. Heavy doses of Tarminator were required to remove the tar and brake dust from the barrels and faces. That was followed up by Zep Citrus at 4:1. The tires were cleaned with Zep 505. The wells were cleaned with LATA.
The front of the car and every other affected area was sprayed with 3D Bug Remover and allowed to dwell. The tar spots along the side were shot with Tarminator and allowed to dwell. It was then rinsed and washed with 3D soap. That was followed up with being sprayed with Americana Iron Remover (even though I didn't see any spots, it's a silver car so I did it anyway) which was followed up with an IronX paste wash. It was then brought inside and clayed with a clay towel.
I like using Essence on brand new paint, but sometimes it plays well for me and sometimes it doesn't. This time, I used it how I use M205 on a one step: yellow B/S pad + Essence + 3401. Holy Moley. Yup, that sure worked! Popping metallic and lovely glow. The whole car was done that way with the intricate areas being done by hand with a mf. The head and tail lights were also polished with the 3401. The chrome tips were hand polished first by M205 followed by
Essence. They got coated afterward too. The wheel faces were hand polished with Essence and a mf.
The paint, head and tail lights, exhaust tips, exterior faces of the wheels and side and rear glass were all double coated with CQF. The tiny piece of trim behind the rear wheels was coated with DLux and the windshield was coated with Forte. The tires were shot with OB from my air gun. Here she is all done with some inside and outside shots:
Metallic close up:
Working on this car was fun and easy and Lord knows I needed that after the last 3-4 cars I've done. I look forward to getting it back to do the wheels completely. Comments as always are appreciated.

That's a pretty beast.
On cars of that calibre, how often are you able to sign the owners up for regular maintenance? Just curious.

No doubt. They had to get the Ford out of their system.
