Bmw 330

Haven't posted a before/after in a while.

This is my neighbor's car. He had some body work done on the driver's side and they did a number on the finish. It looked like they took a Brillo pad to the paint. I had to run the Hitachi at about 2,200 RPM using PG to get rid of the damage. 3 passes in the worst parts.

Sorry, not the best pics. I finished at night plus silver's difficult for me to photograph.

PG w/foamed wool
PO106ff w/polish pad
CMW

An example of the damage...

And after two passes of PG w/foamed wool...

Again...

After...

The whole car...

How does the PG finish?
Did you find it necessary follow the PG with the PO106ff?

Great job, it came out nice! CMW is Clearkote moose wax, I assume...?

PG is pretty abrassive, and will need to be followed up by PO106FF, which will literally jewel the surface.

For a pretty strong compound PG finishes down nicely. On darker colors I notice more hazing/holograms than on this silver. But regardless, I always follow PG with a finer polish.

And yes about CMW, Supercharged.

Looks good Sevenrd. It's just missing the daytime reflection shot of your fence.

I've heard nice things about PG as well. Did dust or gum up any with the wool?

Nice correction.

Thanks everyone.

The PG works great. There is some dust but the performance of the polish outweighs an negative feelings about dusting. I wouldn't say it gums up the foam wool, but it will build up. I keep a brush handy and brush it out after a few panels.

Thanks, Toto. It was hard to capture how bad the driver's side was. It looked as if someone dry-buffed it with a wool pad or something. Just awful.
