When you copy and paste a quote from another thread it can be helpful to include the link back to the thread so others can read the entire quoted passage in context of the discussion taking place. Just a suggestion but a practice I try to use when I do this on forums.
As to your comment, how you apply a wax or paint sealant by hand to your car's finish is
personal preference, in this video, as well as this video,
Video: How To Apply A Synthetic Paint Sealant By Hand With The Straight-Line Technique
all I'm doing is explaining the what, why and how of using the Straight-Line Technique which is a technique that's been around long before I was born.
Numerous times on this forum and on any forum I post to when the topic comes up I prefer to use a DA Polisher to apply waxes and sealants. That's my personal preference.
I know some people like and even enjoy applying a quality paste wax by hand as it can be a relaxing way to escape and have some fun in your garage but my personal preference is to apply both waxes and paint sealants by machine.
If I can, I do everything by machine. For times when you can't use machine, then it's important to also possess good techniques for working by hand.
When it comes to applying a wax or paint sealant using an overlapping circular motion or straight-line motions, that comes down to personal preference. I do believe it's easier to spread a product out using overlapping circular motions but you can spread a product out using straight-line motions, you just have to be more focused on the task at hand... no pun intended...
