Re: new car - clay or klasse one step?

:whs: With the possible exception that I don't think you need to re-wash after claying if you're going to use K-AIO before the HG

    Re: Some Detailing Questions????

The "official" motto is "Wash - Clay - Polish (true abrasive polish) - Protect.

Looks like your order is correct but a few comments to share:

    1) I have no experience with liquid clay bar but...
  5. Re: First detail this sunday but still confused

Looks great... I love seeing reflections on a white car. Hope you enjoyed the process as much as the results.
  6. Re: First detail this sunday but still confused

    1. Correct
    2. Correct (although, as mentioned) some will wash with a mitt and then before rinsing "wash" with clay using the soapy water as the lube, then rinse and dry.
    3. Both Meg's and Clay...

Re: What am I doing wrong

There should be a washer between the polisher and the backing plate.
  8. Re: First detail this sunday but still confused

The only thing I'd mention is, I usually don't bother with drying after washing if I'm going straight to clay. Just spritz the panel, clay, then dry.
  9. Re: First detail this sunday but still confused

As far as over-the-counter clays go, I think they probably mentioned Clay Magic rather than Black Magic, personally I like the Meguires clay kits, they come with clay, qd lube, and a mf towel, all...

Re: Cobra Deluxe Jr scratching the finish

No, you do not need a buffer to apply waxes or sealants. I (and many others) prefer to apply waxes and sealants by hand.

    Re: Correct 'Full Detail' Procedure?

Yep, that's what I do because of water restriction in my area... if you grab a 5 gallon bucket with a water tight lid, you can mix it at home (with distilled water), then use the coin ops water for...

Re: Cobra Deluxe Jr scratching the finish

Sorry about that, got a little confused. While good lighting is always a good idea, it's very important when correcting paint (scratch and swirl removal) especially if you want something in the 95 -...

Re: Klasse Twins or Wolfgang Twins?

    MHO

    Klasse twins win in durability
WG wins in easy of use

As far as looks, it's apples to oranges - Klasse leaves a SHINE, but is considered by many to be very sterile (not a "wet" look, just...

How do you use the PC at the car wash? All you need for the halogens is an outlet.

Re: VODKA more than just a drink

Per an episode of Myth Busters, vodka doesn't work as a prevention for poison oak/ivy... but several of the other uses did prove to be true (it was apparently a good odor remover).
  16. Re: Safe to run Makita off of Power Inverter?

Given my admitedly limited understanding, yes, it should be possible - as long as the inverter is capable of pruducing enough amperage to keep the buffer happy, but... I would question how long your...

    Re: Correct 'Full Detail' Procedure?

I think you have unrealistic expectations...

Doing a true "FULL DETAIL" usually takes multiple days, trying to chase down "every swirl and scratch" on a daily driver is pretty tall order, but...
  18. Re: My car was hit at the mall...can you figure this one out?

the owner of the Acura not being present doesn't mean it didn't happen that way, obviosly it was a hit a run of some type, right?

Normally, I would agree that the front bumber would rip off but......
  19. Re: My car was hit at the mall...can you figure this one out?

Was the red Acura there when you parked or did they show up later?

I'm wondering if the following is possible...

Red Acura gets ready to leave and accidentally goes forward instead of...
  20. Re: Is 106ff adequate enough to remove medium swirling w/ flex3401?

It's definately worth the time to a 2 step (if it needs it) on black paint!!! Be sure to share pics with us.
  21. Re: Is 106ff adequate enough to remove medium swirling w/ flex3401?

The amount of correction that can be accomplished with a Flex + white + Nano is very dependant on how hard the clear coat is... on soft clear, it can do quite a bit, on some harder clears... no way....
