    Re: Spring Reset

Sorry to revive this old thread, but I'm swimming in choices when it comes to polish. Is a finishing polish enough? What's "best" to use? I hear good things about the various house brands, HD...

    Re: Is there any hope?

I'm back for an update! I really went at it with the Meg's Ultimate compound and a DA. I think I got it to as good as it will ever be without some sort of touch-up solution. Appreciate everyone's...

    Re: Is there any hope?

Update: Received my Griot's polisher, along with white and orange Hex Logic pads. Using the Meg's UC, I went over the area at about a 6 speed, which really helped the situation. But, as you'll see in...

    Re: Is there any hope?

Nice. I went at it with the microfiber towel and UC for a bit. I have a polisher and a couple hex logic pads (white and orange) arriving tomorrow--I think it needs just a little extra cut to get it...

    Re: Is there any hope?

Thanks, that helped quite a bit. I went out with the ultimate compound and a microfiber pad, but it was a finishing pad--not much heft. It did make some good progress. Think a DA polisher would help...

    Re: Is there any hope?

BTW, that almond color may be from the garage door itself, so maybe that's a good sign?

    Is there any hope?

Garage door caught just out of range of the back-up camera, left a pretty good scratch. Couldn't be more bummed out right now. Is there any hope of repairing this myself with a DA, or do I need to...

    Re: Spring Reset

THANK YOU! I needed that pep talk--still a little afraid I'll mess something up, but that helped!

I'll get back on here to let you all know how it went in late-March/early-April (fingers crossed...

    Re: Spring Reset

Thanks for the advice and welcomes, I'm glad I'm on the right path and don't need to bother with the clean slate!

I am planning to purchase my first polisher for this job. I'm not a pro, so I'm...

    Spring Reset

    Hello Everyone!

I'm researching how to prep my Silver BMW 340i DD for spring. It's gone through a couple harsh upper-midwest winters, and while it has no obvious damage, it's never seen a polisher...
  12. Re: Blackfire Carnauba Spray Wax over Pinnacle Souveran?

I should also note that I have some Megs D156 on hand--maybe that's a better route.
  13. Blackfire Carnauba Spray Wax over Pinnacle Souveran?

Washed the car this morning with Duragloss, then followed up with Aquawax as a drying aid. To finish it off, I used Pinnacle Souveran paste wax for the first time--wow. That stuff is absolutely...

    Aquawax under Pinnacle Souveran?

I love using Aquawax as a drying aid--towels glide better and it leaves a great shine. I picked up Pinnacle Soveran during this weekend's great sale. Can I dry my vehicle with Aquawax, then apply the...

Re: Hybrid V7 Over Power Lock

Great tip, may pick some up right now. Can the BF Carnuba Spray Wax be applied to a wet surface? Always a fan of products that can--seems to help drying and add lubrication.
    (p.s. I've read many of...

Re: Hybrid V7 Over Power Lock

Maybe it was because I doubled up on the layers, but it lasted for 5 months.

Re: Hybrid V7 Over Power Lock

Actually, when I first received the car, I sealed it with two layers of JetSeal and it was great. The price difference is pretty negligible, but I'd heard such amazing things about Power Lock on this...

    Hybrid V7 Over Power Lock

I detailed by car last week with the following (probably way way overkill) regimen:

Citrus Wash & Gloss two bucket wash at 5 oz/5 gal
    Iron X & Rinse
    Clay Bar
    CG Blacklight
    Jescar...

Re: Clean slate on 2016 BMW

Wow, thank you everyone for the warm reception. I think I will swap out the JetSeal with Power Lock--way too many positive reviews on here to ignore.

I've done very little research on polishing,...

    Clean slate on 2016 BMW

    Hello everyone!

First, I have learned so, so much from this forum--thank you!

I took delivery my 340i this winter and a full, proper detail wasn't possible because of the weather. I did give it...
