  1. Hose attachment to wash car equivalent or better than a soft-brush car wash?

I'm getting long in the tooth and have bad shoulders, so I have trouble hand washing the car (leased 2017 C-300 coupe). However, I still would like to wash sort-of by hand and was thinking that...
  2. Doing something wrong with Meguiar's Last Detail Spray?

My new car has been detailed with Blackfire Wet Diamond and Blackfire Crystal Seal. About a week after washing (BF products had been on the car for 3-4 months and haven't been reapplied,) I got...
  3. Re: Suggest an appropriate QD after a paint sealant?

My mistake. You are right, I should have written Crystal Seal...Sorry for the confusion. BTW, I'd like to edit my Post #14 to read "Crystal Seal," but don't see where the Edit is?

    EDIT: OK, I...
  4. Re: Suggest an appropriate QD after a paint sealant?

Thanks for the info Eldorado2k, I'm on my way to getting some LT...
  5. Re: Suggest an appropriate QD after a paint sealant?

LT looks like a product I'd like to use, but I do have a question about how to properly use it. OK, let's say I've been using LT for a couple of months and now I would like to do some Blackfire...
  6. Re: Suggest an appropriate QD after a paint sealant?

Wow, guys, a ton of good suggestions. However, I think I didn't make my request as clear as I could when I used the word "appropriate." "Appropriate" needs a little more definition...I think. I...
  7. Suggest an appropriate QD after a paint sealant?

I don't use any wax on my cars...just me. I do use paint sealants/polishers, though. As I'm getting older and lazier, I'd like to use a good "quick detailer" every now and then. I'm presently...
  8. Re: Adding a little pop to 2017 MB C300 open pore wood trim?

Hey Bob, in all honesty, if I were to apply a some furniture polish to bring in a little lustre, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the dealership would never know the difference. Haven't done it...
  9. Re: Adding a little pop to 2017 MB C300 open pore wood trim?

Yeah, that's the way it turned out for me...The grainy wood is beautiful, but just needs a little more "finishing." But it appears that it won't be a big deal as either some furniture wax or maybe...
  10. Re: Adding a little pop to 2017 MB C300 open pore wood trim?

What" Never changed your mind for what you thought was better?
  11. Re: Adding a little pop to 2017 MB C300 open pore wood trim?

Found this reply to a similar question on a Genesis forum:

"I also did not like the matte wood finish in my black 2015 Genesis. I used "MINWAX" paste finishing wax. Apply thin coats with a clean...
  12. Adding a little pop to 2017 MB C300 open pore wood trim?

OK, just got a 2017 MB C300 coupe with natural open pore natural grain brown ash wood to go with the saddle brown interior. To my eye, I'm finding the wood trim to be a bit dull...but I do...
  13. Doing something wrong with Blackfire WD and CS

I'm a Zaino user moving on to Blackfire. After claying my car, I applied WD and then CS. Came out beautifully, and was somewhat easier to apply than the ZAIO and Z-Clear Seal. But here's my...
  14. Re: Weird lines in recently replaced windshield

Yeah, I'm in SoFL and the Safelite install was with a genuine BMW windshield, all covered by Allstate. Actually, two other windshield were first installed, but they were removed because the first...
  15. Re: Weird lines in recently replaced windshield

Canceled the Safelite visit. Although I had scrubbed and washed the windshield very vigorously with various materials, those dark lines were still there when water was sprayed on. So I said what...
  16. Weird lines in recently replaced windshield

The windshield on my Z4 was recently replaced by Safelite. After two attempts, the third try worked. After the second failure I had requested that they install a BMW windshield, which they claimed...

Re: Switched from Zaino to Blackfire.

Yes, BF is easier to apply than Zaino...one of the reasons I gave BF a try. Zaino has to be put on very, very thinly. Usually going over the streaks with Z6 is helpful.

Re: Switched from Zaino to Blackfire.

I like sheeting better than beading. After washing, if I can't get tot he beads before they dry, I usually have to rub a little harder with the MF to get out the dried bead marks. I think sheeting...

Re: Switched from Zaino to Blackfire.

Thanks for the info. I never realized that clearcoat was paint.

Thanks for the compliment. "...The fact that it flashes in 45 minutes let you apply something over the top of it..."--I have...

Re: Switched from Zaino to Blackfire.

The Zaino (AIO, Z5, ZCS, Grand Finale) were applied about 4-5 months ago.

As for bonding, do these products actually "cut" through the clearcoat to reach the paint? I ask this as I would naively...

Re: Switched from Zaino to Blackfire.

As far as I know, claying does the job...as does alcohol. Nonetheless, car looks good and it looks as though the Blackfire bonded.

Re: Switched from Zaino to Blackfire.

If it is a wax, I don't use waxes. Also, my car's paint is not metallic. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
