    Re: McKees 37 N-914

Great ideas guys. I guess I would have thought of that had I remembered my conversions from grade school. I always buy gallon jugs of distilled water for detailing/washing anyway.

    Re: McKees 37 N-914

Just mixed it. I used about 1/3 oz to 34 oz of water. The mix is still almost clear. Just a hint of blue in the water. Amazing that's all it takes....

Can you clarify what you mean? Can you link to a container that you're talking about?

    McKees 37 N-914

Looking at using a rinseless wash for my car that has the McKees ceramic coating applied. I just want to clear up the dillution ratios for the 37 N-914 wash. So if I have a spray bottle that takes...
  7. Re: McKee's 37 Coating applied, couple of questions

Thanks guys. If we had been in my wife's X1, it could very well have been much worse. There's a chance it could have come over the hood.

The upside, I guess, is that the shop in town is...
  8. Re: McKee's 37 Coating applied, couple of questions

Well, after all that work and subsequent worrying, 2 hours into our 6 hour road trip back from Denver today, the car in front of me ran over and flipped up an entire sheet of plywood. Of course I...

Here's a few pics. Again, this was after a light sprinkle. The roof looks great. It's hard to tell with the other panels.

  11. Re: McKee's 37 Coating applied, couple of questions

I'll take a look at those, thanks! How often would the booster be used? Do I need to wait at least a week before I can give it an ONR bath? I think I read somewhere to give coatings a whole week...
  12. McKee's 37 Coating applied, couple of questions

So, I applied McKee's 37 paint coating to my '08 Jeep srt8 this weekend. I've used OptiCoat 2.0 in the past on a couple of different cars, so I appreciated the ease of application with the 37. ...

Re: Removing BFCS for OC2.0 - need help

Thanks. Do the paint cleaners polish at all? As in, would I get double benefit by applying with a DAO, or should I do my polishing then use the PSC for final step, applied by hand?

Re: Removing BFCS for OC2.0 - need help

Ah, I meant to say I have the Pinnacle Black Label Surface Cleanse. This is what I used on my roommate's car, followed by an IPA wipedown before applying the OC. His car didn't have any kind of...

Re: Removing BFCS for OC2.0 - need help

Thanks man. Yea I've mixed IPA before.

Is there a particular polish that will for sure remove it? I have their (Blackfire) finishing polish as well. I didn't think it would be abrasive...

Removing BFCS for OC2.0 - need help

What is the best way to make sure it is all gone and the paint is prepped for the OC? ...

Re: Optimum power clean APC dilution ratios

Is OPC ok to use on top of OC2.0 at those exterior dilutions?
  22. Re: Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz

Core, that car looks good! What did it run you to have it done? I can handle all the prep work once I know what needs to be done.
  23. Re: Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz

I used BFCS on mine. I don't see it mentioned much, if at all, lately. It looks like people like the Optimum poli-seal and EXO v2 these days?

What would be the way to go about removing the...
  24. Re: Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz

Great thanks. I have a ruby red metallic mustang, and the metal flake is VERY apparent in sunlight. I wouldn't want to dull that at all. Guess I should stick to a sealant huh?
  25. Re: Review and Extreme Testing: Opti-Coat 2.0 and CQuartz

Also, aren't both the products that you listed coatings? The pro appears to be professional only?
