I don't know. For me they are just shrunken. I could see how they bended over when i pushed the steam on them.

i just tried to clean my Mequiars Carpet Brush with my Steam Vaccum and now some of the bristeles are dented or shrunk from the hot steam.

Makes sense, but it's funny how buffing a clear coat is sometimes so hard, but putting scratches in it, is very easy.

As far as i remember there was no paint pulled on to the buffing pads.
