I was not aware that the Hybrids were no longer the "go to" pads for the flex. Makes sense seeing that they were on the BOGO to most likely get rid of excess inventory.
Agreed. I have both the 4" and 4 3/8" backing plate but haven't used either yet since the weather in MI has not been cooperating so I can't comment on the durability.
In order to run the 5" Hybrid pads on the Flex 3401 you'll need to use the 4" backing plate from Lake Country found here: FLEX XC3401 Changeable Backing Plate System
It appears the area you are pointing to is the quick disconnect fittings. Go to your local home depot/lowes/local hardware store and pick up a new quick disconnect fitting. Swap the new one for the...
Here's another chart that you might find useful. Helps convert US to Metric volumes, as well as defines ratios in fractions. It has helped me alot when trying to convert ml to oz.

Could be the upper/lower intake manifold gaskets leaking. The 3.8l / 3800 was notorious for those going bad. Didnt look like a bad job when I saw them done at my local buick dealership.
Got burned a few times yesterday using my spyder for the first time. I'm thinking about buying some slip on pipe insulation and cutting a piece to slide over the brass coupling.
If Autogeek's store had the option of Amazon prime my bank account would be empty. Often times I read a thread and get an impulse to buy new products. Having to wait a week for my Autogeek order to...
What I found with my GTi when I had it was the rear would always be the dirtiest part of the car. I remember reading something on the vortex about the wind pattern the car creates as it's driving...
You could look into setting up some type of tent or canopy that would shade the vehicle you are working on. I think they run anywhere from $100 on up. Make sure to find some way to secure it to the...
Congrats on the new VW. Hopefully you got the TDI Sportwagon? Where are you finding this paste type substance you are speaking of? I worked at a VW dealer as a tech for 5 years and would see a waxy...
